Pleasant Day Here Today

Today was a nice and pleasant day. We didn't do much at all. Our electricity was out when we got up so we went back to bed. Duke went outside to enjoy the sunshine.
I did my chicken chores of clean water and food and the rest of the day was spent watching television.
The electricity came back on around 11 am. The house was cold and I thought my refrigerator had gone out because I didn't hear it running whenever I walked in there. There were some things in the freezer that were not frozen solid either, but I didn't know what time the electricity went out to know if that was the cause or not. Hoping that it has caught back up to pace tomorrow and we are back to normal.

Hope the fridge is ok. You can lose them when the electric goes off. Ilost one like that. Thankfully I had an extended warranty on it and they put a new motor in it.

The refrigerator is okay but the freezer seems to be lacking and not working quite up to speed. The man mentioned pulling it out from the wall today and vacuuming behind it but of course hasn't done it yet. If he is waiting for me to put the fire under him, he will be waiting until Thursday since I open at the boutique tomorrow and close on Wed.

@wolfgirl569 It seems to be an on and off thing. I check it one time and everything is frozen. Then next day it is thawing out. I'm not putting anything else in it!!

Cute meme. Why was your electricity off? We usually don't ever know when ours goes out. Watched some exciting football yesterday.

I don't know if a line was taken down or the electric company cut us off for a few hours to lessen the load. We have had extreme low temperatures in this area for 4-5 days and nights. I didn't go to town so no clue if a tree came down and took the line with it. I do know that the whole town and surrounding area was out of electricity though.

@LindaOHio Yes, that sounds like a great plan. When everything is electric in your home you need a backup.

@kareng It gets so cold. We are getting a standby generator installed. It should be coming in any day now. We get ice storms in March; and there have been times when the power has been out for 3 days. Much too cold in the house!

I slept almost the entire day today. I've not felt the best this week. My eyes were swollen shut for two days and I was running a low grade fever the next day. I came to myLot yesterday but didn't do a lot of talking here. Mostly I read and liked what people were posting without leaving any comments.
Pretty ran out of something, I can't remember what, so she woke me up and made me take her to the local Walmart. I sat in the car while she ran in and grabbed whatever it was she needed. (She normally won't let me stay in the car. I guess I looked as bad as I felt.)

@DaddyEvil Yes, that's high. Are you trying to beat my hubby's record? Our cardiologist always tells us to quit trying to out-do each other. Take it easy and lounge in bed or the sofa if you can get that far.

@kareng I'm still running a low grade fever and my blood pressure is really high today, making me dizzy if I move around too much. (Temp is 95.6 and BP is 180/100 a little bit ago.)

The day has been going good so far. It's just 12 noon here and so far so good. What was the reason for the electricity not being there? Hopefully the things in the refrigerator are not spoiled.

Not sure the whole town and surrounding area was out. Either a main transformer blew or they are doing blackouts since we have had record lows for 5 nights now. I didn't go to town so don't know if a tree fell across the road and took a line down or not.

@kareng Oh! I see. Well, anything could be the reason. Hopefully it is fixed by now. Power cuts for too long can paralyze life in today's life
