Chinese Take Out Tonight

I worked the afternoon shift today at the boutique and decided to grab Chinese food on the way home. Actually, my husband had sent a text saying that Chinese food would be nice tonight. Ha! I took the hint that he hadn't fixed anything for our dinner so stopped and took care of that. We got a pint of hot and sour soup and split a Pepper Steak dinner that also had fried rice and an egg roll with it. We had plenty to eat and some leftovers too. I had breakfast of dal chilka( pancakes made of soaked lentils batter and grated veggies). After some bit of mylotting, I will enter the kitchen to make vegetable fried rice with soya chunks for lunch.

We love egg rolls. I should make them tomorrow for dinner.

This place used to make a great egg roll that was huge. I think they are buying them frozen in bulk now for they don't taste fresh if you know what I mean. And they are much smaller, like half the size they used to be.

I started something huh? LOL! I was just thinking that I missed not having lo mein. They make a pretty good one there with pork roast in it. Next time!! I'm glad you felt like eating and ate something tonight!!

Awesome!! Did you have some Sake? I miss that from The Faculty Club at LSU. I always thought it was an odd environment for it, being a full service dining restaurant on campus that served American food, but they had the best Sake!!

I looooove Chinese. We had Meals on Wheels - turkey, dressing, squash, mixed veggies and a banana.

we love this too Miss Karen, it is a spring roll. You can wrap anything to be honest with the lumpia wrapper as we call it. My favorite is tuna roll

Always a treat getting Chinese takeout! I kind of wished we would have gotten some lo mein though. It's one of my favorites.

@CarolDM It is hard on businesses right now with Covid. So many people are working from home now so no businesses or not enough to have a decent amount of people in the restaurants at any given time. I really hate to think about how the situation will be a year from now.

@Shavkat We don't have a certain time here. We just eat when we get hungry. I have dinner cooking on the stove now though and it is after 7 pm so a bit late today.

I was going to have ham, macaroni and cheese. It ended up ham gravy over bread as I was out of macaroni

I understand. I do spur of the moment meals here sometimes. It all depends on if I am in the mood to cook! And then what is in the freezer and pantry.
