Still trying (and failing) to get my orginal Facebook account back.

As many of you know I used to be an active user of Facebook. It was a good way to communicate with band mates and friends I had not seen in years. When my account was hacked (I don't know if it was the R*ssians or an angry ex-band mate whom I may have insulted) I was unable to get my account back. They changed the email associated with the account, rendering me helpless. Here is the text I sent to Facebook today. Will it yield more than a bot response? I doubt it. But I have to keep trying. I hope I don't get hacked here. I enjoy my interactions with all of you. You know who you are. If you have Facebook friends whom you connect with only on Facebook, I suggest you get real-world contact information, like emails and phone numbers. Several people thought I had died or was rejecting them. Rumors of my death were greatly exaggerated. Do you have a Facebook account? Have you ever been hacked? Don't think it cannot happen. And don't expect good Customer Service, even if Zuckerberg has zillions of dollars and COULD provide good customer support if he chose to. --- I still do not have access to my (the Real Horse) account. It has been several months. It was hacked, and I cannot use my email to access it and change my password. How long must I wait? I was a faithful Facebook user. Now I warn others against using Facebook. Is there really NO Customer Service? My temporary account is under the name (some of you know it). I would like to have my original account back, as it was a part of my life for over 10 years. My phone number is ABC-DEF-GHIJ. I can provide whatever information is necessary to establish my identity and get my (original) account back.

I joined Facebook around 12 years back but have never been active there. But I do keep the account and visit it once in a while. My activities over there in 12 years is less than those of active members in 12 hours I have heard of many accounts being hacked there. They have to improve their security. I hope you get more than a bot response and hopefully get your old account back.

@arunima25 That's a "figure of speech" that means "I'm not counting on it."

I've had my account there for around 15 years and wish I'd never made one. I haven't used my account in about four years but can't close it. (Fb is holding photos of Pretty and RickyEvil hostage. When I joined, one of the ToS was that if I deleted my account, then Fb was free to use any information/pictures in any way they chose. I deleted the photos from my account four years ago but know Fb still has them in their archives and I'm not letting them use my photos for any reason.) I seriously doubt your missive will do any good, but I hope I'm mistaken.

I still use FB for my author and publisher pages but try to avoid it as far as personal stuff goes. It got to the point where there was too much nonsense being posted by people I once thought knew better.

@TheHorse I "love" the folks who post their positive Covid results and then go on to tell all about the parties and gatherings they've been to while contagious.

@TheHorse That's the whole key to success. Well, simply showing up is 80% of it but not quitting is at least the other 75%.

I use Facebook, as you know. I think my account has been messed with in the past. I changed my password whenever I felt someone changed my settings. I hope you can get an answer from FB. I doubt you will get your original account back.

I have closed my facebook account. I've been a Facebook member since 2009, at that time there weren't as many members as they are today. But because too many problems have arisen from the past, I decided to close my account 2 years ago

I know that many appreciate Facebook, but as a matter of fact it's one of the most dangerous media around. They offer no support, you cannot get back your account if it is hacked. They have the right to use your photos. I post nothing personal.

@TheHorse As you agree when you join, yes, they have the right. I know that most people never read the TOS when they join a site.

Do you really have the right to use our photos for their own purposes? I hadn't realized that.
