I Love my New Doctor

I went for that second opinion today with a different oncologist about the Prolia and there is good news about the doctor. He is WONDERFUL...very understanding and thorough and told me something I never knew...the chance of my breast cancer coming back is very low due to a certain score that my previous oncologist never went over with me.
This doctor is a general oncologist, not specializing in breast cancer, but says he knows the right people to go to if he has any questions about a breast cancer patient. He does have other breast cancer patients. He said now that I am doing things that will hopefully prevent the osteopenia from getting worse, we can hold off on the Prolia and get another scan, later on, to see how things look then. We will do another bone density scan in July.
He did ask me if breast cancer ran in the family to which I said no. Then he asked about cancer in other family members and I mentioned my Dad and my grandmother both had cancer.
Then he asked if I would be okay with having a blood test done that will tell if there is any cancer present in my body. Yikes...that is scary!
I said I will do it, so I go for that tomorrow. He said we will follow up on the results next week. This test is scary because it could be positive. But I guess if it is, then it's better to know early rather than later after any cancer has spread.
If you are a praying person, all prayers are appreciated that I don't have any cancer present in my body. Thanks in advance.

@Kouponkaren - Correct and they cannot know our full medical history, so it is important that they listen to us.

@LadyDuck I agree with you. I like the team approach rather than the know it all ones. Because no one truly does "know it all!"

@LadyDuck That is so true. The first doctor came in and introduced herself and she went over the procedure I had done in surgery, and she had gotten it all wrong so I had to correct her. This doctor came in, introduced himself, and said he would be back in a minute because he was just finishing up reviewing my records. How nice was that? Not only was he researching my history, but he came in to update me on why he wasn't going to be in for a few more minutes. Very cool!

@CarolDM Thank you. I am hoping for the best and am going to try not to dwell on it because there is nothing I can do about it anyway.

@Kouponkaren Good for you. When I have something stressful, I sometimes say to myself 'This time tomorrow it will all be over'. Of course, that only works if the stressful thing isn't going to go on for days and days.

Is the doctor male or female?
To be honest I trust shaman than a doctor.

@solidcodes The new doctor is a male. The previous doctor was a female. I don't know much about shaman.

Now that is a good doctor! I had a great GYN doctor. He told me that the chances of my ovarian tumor being cancerous were very low, and nothing showed on the pathological report; however, he insisted on doing the bloodwork to make absolutely sure. We need more doctors like that!!!
I pray that your blood work comes back nice and clean, and the only thing you have in your blood is….well, blood!
