Started watching the winter Olympics already. Saw moguls qualifiers and the team competition for ice skating—men, rhythm, and pairs). Also watched a game of curling. Interesting game to me. Wonder why these games (and others) were happening before the actual opening ceremony? That’s weird. The opening ceremony happened and I recorded it but I will watch it this evening when it re-airs during the prime time coverage.

If I did watch it, I would only watch the figure skating.

There are always games that start before the opening ceremonies. Probably so that everything ends in time for the closing ceremonies. The opening ceremonies are traditionally on a certain day I think?...usually the weekend I'm guessing???

I didn't watch it. In fact I am not familiar with the Winter Olympics but this is not the main reason I ignored it, especially when it is held in my country. I wish the money could be spent in a good way, such as the health care, living conditions, education and so on. I would be proud if the people could live better and share the opinions freely. A fancy show could not make me proud.

The Olympics is when the world comes together. And it's good for the country that hosts it. Usually anyway. Things are a bit different because of the pandemic.

It's just like 1936's Berlin olympics, the shame of the human history. When a country is ruling their people with terror and tyranny, many of people are living in the fear of being persecuted for their faith, thoughts and nations, this olympics showed the power and incredible totalitarianism of an autocratic country. There's nothing to praise, everyone in that olympics is the accomplice of the CCP's tyrannny.Surely,i believe most of them don't know what happened in Cathay, what a hell Cathay is.As long as they don't praise CCP and this evil olympics,i wish they can get the golden metal and have a nice trip.If they praise CCP and this evil Olympics, thinking of 1.4 billion people who live under the tyranny of CCP,God will throw them into the hell.

The Olympics are not about politics. Or should not be about politics anyway.

I used to enjoy the Olympics so much more when the competitors were considered amatuers and for that reason I really don't know how much of the Winter Olympics I'll watch. I noticed that the Summer Olympics actually started before the opening ceremony also. So if the events have already started shouldn't we call it something other than the "Opening Ceremony". I mean the competition is already open, right.

I did not realize that the summer games also started before the ceremony. Very strange that they do that. It really makes no sense.
