In 1923 singer and songwriter Claude King was born in Louisiana, He was best known for his bit 1962 hit "Wolverton Mountain." He passed on in 2013. In 1941 country singer Henson Cargill was born in Oklahoma, He was best known for his 1968 number one hit "Skip a Rope" He passed on in 2007. In 1962 Ray Charles recorded his album Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music, The album is looked upon as his best studio album and includes the hit single "I Can't Stop Loving You", which was played on country music stations all across the US. In 1971 country singer and songwriter Sara Evans was born in Missouri. She is known for her 1999 number one country hit "No Place That Far" In 2016 a new species of black tarantula that lives near Folsom Prison in California was named after Johnny Cash. In 2020 Little Big Town was at number one on the US Country Album chart with their ninth studio album Nightfall. It includes the singles "Over Drinking", "The Daughters", and "Wine, Beer, Whiskey"

Ray Charles Even that does not sound country but guess modern sounds work for that song. He has that blues or jazz vibe just in him. Neat man and singer.

Ray Charles was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame last year on the strength of that album. Love Claude King.
