The MWS (myLot Weirdo Service) has issued a severe country music watch for tomorrow. Those in the path of headaches caused by country music may want to take shelter with earplugs.
But that’s tomorrow. Today here’s the next song on my list of my favorites of songs with “kiss” in the title.
#6: Kiss Me on the Bus - The Replacements
Hey, didn’t they make a movie about this band?
(NO, the film The Replacements was not about this band!)
Did you know that there were other bands from Minneapolis than Prince and the Revolution? Here’s one of them. One of my favorite bands from the 80s, the Replacements went from cacophonous crap (I’ve never heard a more appropriately-titled album than The Replacements Stink in my LIFE) to the stunning brilliance of albums like Tim and Pleased to Meet Me.
They split up in the early 90s, and founding guitarist Bob Stinson died at a young age from drugs.
They were nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. At the time, I disagreed with it; however, after seeing this year’s list of jokes, I mean nominees, I think they’re more than worthy of induction.
Kiss Me on the Bus
Written by Paul Westerberg
Recorded by The Replacements
From Tim, 1985
(Since there’s a temporary glitch between myLot and You Tube videos I’m posting a screen grab of the video so you don’t have to look at something silly in the thumbnail. And, despite what it says, the link works fine.)
Okay, don’t say hi then:

Gosh, I like you; but we sure don't have the same taste in music. I guess that's what makes the world go 'round.

@LindaOHio — the top three have no country music involved.

I guess being kissed in the subway is okay, but Petula Clark said not to sleep there!
