The Era of Connectedness with a Twist

Don't be alarmed with the word 'twist.' I am sure that all of us are feeling grateful that modern devices were invented, such as smartphones and the like. I can simply say that we are in the 'era of connectedness.' Wondering why there is a twist. Well, I noticed that some people tend to speak so loud when using their smartphones. They even switch on the speaker, too. I switch off when seeing people like this. Don't get me wrong about it. Well, in fact, it makes me entertained by them. What is your take on this concern? What makes you switch off? Image Credit: encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com

I just find it weird that some people tend to shout when using their smartphones.

@RebeccasFarm Well, it seems they wanted to show off for having a new phone. It was just like a wild guess.

@Shavkat Maybe they think the person is far away

I get amused when I hear someone talking, apparently to no one, and realize they are listening on a Bluetooth speaker hidden in their ear. I always wonder if they realize how much it looks like they are talking to themselves or, perhaps, their imaginary 6-foot rabbit.

Honestly, I ordered a pair of Bluetooth earplugs so that I can use them if doing brisk walking. I think it is better than letting the loudspeaker of the phone on.

@Shavkat I agree. I have a pair (if only I could find them) that I use when I want to listen to a podcast or music and my missus is watching TV or reading.

Yes, unless you are hard of hearing no need to have the cell on speaker. The world doesn't need to hear your Convo.

If this is the case, it is best to use a pair of headsets, especially if he or she is in public.

I tend to speak quieter, especially if I'm in public. What I'm talking about on my phone is nobody else's business. I don't want to hear other people's business when they're talking on their phone. I tend to scowl at them and move away as quickly as I can.

I sometimes move away from the crowd of people when speaking to someone. I do not also care whatever others are talking about in such a situation. With a speaker on, I doubt it.

When I got my new phone, my son told me to switch off speaker. It was the only way I could hear anyone on my other phone. I need to hold my phone to my ear to hear anyone.

I can understand. It is also the same way for my granny aged 103. She needs to have the switch on the speaker inside her room.

Half the time, I think they are trying to make themselves seem important.

I also think that way sometimes. It seems that they need to be educated on smartphone 101.
