Do you shop at Walmart? Do you miss the 24 hour ability to shop?

This is definitely a YES to me on both. We don't have a Target here so Walmart it is for me and I miss being able to shop alone at 2 am. BUT now we have curbside delivery where you don't even need to go into the store. I haven't tried this service yet but I do plan to soon. It's just such an odd thing to me to shop and then pick up my stuff. The only thing I don't like is that I'm don't know who's picking my stuff out, and will they do a good job at it.

We have no Walmart here and not even Target and stores all have pretty limited hours. Those who stay open longer open from 7 am to 7 pm everything is closed on Sunday.

Wow! You're in Switzerland, right? One of my best friends is in Switzerland right now, getting married today. (I've posted it, if you want to check for that post.)

I take advantage of curbside pick up quite often. The shoppers do a fairly good job when picking my order. There has been a couple of times when fruits or vegetables where bruised and I went online to complain. I was told they would issue a refund and to keep or toss the damaged goods. I do not miss the 24 hour or later hours. I prefer to shop early mornings after I drop my daughter off at school. This gives me about an hour to shop for my meats and other items that I need.

@NanaMc I buy my meats at another store. I’m not thrilled with the meats at Walmart.

That's where my issue lies, is with them picking fruits, veggies and meats. I could always just do the rest of my shopping online and then run into the store and grab the few things I just don't trust them to do.

@ElusiveButterfly OMG, the meat at our local grocers is usuallly gray after one day. And I've literally plucked feathers off of their chickens. If i'm going to buy meat, I was it pre-plucked. LOL

We don't have a Walmart here but we do have stores that are open 24/7. They will deliver too but I prefer to do my own shopping.

@NanaMc It's not really odd - Walmart is American and I live in England.

That's so odd!! In some cities they have several. I still have to travel 18 miles to the closest one to me.

@NanaMc Could be either way. I never go at night. I have two Walmart’s in the vicinity but too far to walk.

Maybe, but I think most of them have gone to hours of 7:00AM to 11:00PM. But yours may still be up 24/7, especially if you're in a big city.

I am not a fan of customer service at Walmart, but I mostly find their prices to be good. But like any store, not everything is cheaper there, so you really have to know your prices to get the best deals. But curbside pickup and online shopping will never be a thing for me. As for Target, I can't stand the store.

@NanaMc I don't mind going to more than one store if it saves me money. The way I shop, I essentially keep an inventory, so it's never like I have to go out of my way to take advantage of the better pricing elsewhere. To me it is never worth wasting money just because I am there.

@porwest Until they move shelves around! I have to admit Walmart doesn't do that. The bread is always where the bread belongs. My local grocer seems to change where things belong every six months! It agrees me to no end!

Whenever I'm in a bigger city I go to Target (And ALDI). I agree that Walmart isn't always best on their prices but at least they do have nearly everything at that one store.

No Walmart here. We do have a singular Costco though but it is so far away and you need to pay for a membership so meh. Some service stations stay open all night other than that I don't really know of anywhere that stays open 24/7

Well I havent been to Walmart in ages but I shop there all the time online and have stuff delivered..groceries and all. Yes I remember when they stopped the 24 hour thing here too. I miss that I really do. My son used to work the graveyard stocking at a local Walmart here and one night he saw Shaq (O'Neil) in the store shopping with his girlfriend. Funny, he always tells people about that. He was in town for a game years ago. My son said this giant walked by him, and he did not realize who it was, til he kept looking.

I’m old, so I remember when stores closed when the sun went down. I really don’t miss the 24-hour shopping, but then I’m retired and set in my ways. When I was younger and worked the night shift at the post office 24-hour stores were my favorite things!!!

The beauty of Walmart and many of the big chains is you can shop online at 2 am and shop to your heart content. The need for Walmart's brick-and-mortar stores to be open 24 hours a day is pointless in this time and age of online shopping. They have to have time to clean the store when no one is in the store. Have you been to a Walmart store at 7 am? It is considerably cleaner than when it was open 24 hours a day. I shop at Walmart on a fairly regular basis and have noticed the store feels cleaner and brighter since the start of the pandemic and I hope they keep the 16 hours of operation in place. If you seriously cant shop between 7 am and 11 pm any day of the week then you have a problem.

I'm going to attempt curbside pick up tomorrow. This will be interesting to say the least!! I have noticed that the stores are cleaner though and that's always a good thing!

I've always done my groceries online (well, since they started having that service anyways, which I've enjoyed for almost 8 years now?), and even in separate countries, I never had an issue with people picking them out for me. I prefer it this way, saves me time and money.

I do my shopping on Sundays. I may just try it this week. I hope it goes smooth. But I also like going in and browsing, looking for everything I know I don't need.
