My biggest pet peeve while at the grocery

Do you ever go to the grocery store and know where is everything is? Like you could almost do your shopping while blind folded? I love it when I can do that. You're good and comfortable with the store. It's all nice and easy. Then BAM! Same store, same brands but the candy is now where the bread is. The bread is where the canned goods were yesterday. Why do grocery stores do that?!?

They have to do that because it's a marketing stradgity. Switch things up every so often, so that a person might buy something they weren't thinking about, while looking for the thing they were.

Well that back fires on me because I can never find anything! If I'm looking for peas and cookies are where they were last time I get aggravated and don't even think of picking up those cookies.

I don't understand why that happens too. Grocery stores like to rearrange products and then you have to start all over again searching for a specific item.

I know, it's one of the most aggravating things to deal with. I honestly think the manager sit's back in his chair and watches us from the monitor and laughing his head off as we scurry around searching for what we need. It's like an easter egg hunt when they do that!

I don't know why they do this.

It must be just to aggravate us. They probably sit back and giggle as they watch us on the cameras while we search the aisles.

This is exactly what happens to us! You go into a shop and you know where everything is and then suddenly they've moved things around you have to start remembering where everything is again! I hate it when they do that!

And just as you know the new setup they change it again! I finally have the hang of the new setup and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they stop doing that silly stuff!!

@NanaMc Yes, I know how you feel! It can be infuriating when they do that! And you have to go round searching for what you want!

I am sometimes in this situation. I feel annoyed because it wastes my time looking for something if being moved.

I have never seen them do a full 100% change around on all of the products before. A few little tweaks here and there I can handle.

Theres a small grocers in my town that does a full exchange except for the freezers and produce but they even change the food in those places too. Yeah a tweak or two but not the entire darn store!

I hate this and I know why they do this, marketing strategy to oblige customers to look around hoping that they buy more.

Sometimes I notice they put the staler products at the front and the fresher ones at the back.So I start comparing expiry dates and purchase the fresher products.

Yeah Just before I moved into my uncle's house, the grocery store I usually went to change the whole store around. At least they gave out a guide to where everything was. Now that I moved into my uncle's house, I have to get used to a new store. I couldn't find where the vitamins were, so I got them at another store. A few weeks later I found out where the vitamins were located at. lol

Kayla is right. It's a marketing strategy; but it does make shoppers crazy, especially when they're in a hurry.

@NanaMc I haven't either actually. But all grocery stores for sure.

So far I haven't seen walmart do it. At least not to the extent that the smallers stores do. They may put the ketchup where the mayo was last time and vice versa but I've never seen them entirely switch aisles.

Maybe they do it to bring new products to your attention. But I agree it's annoying.
