I'm Very Proud of my Daughter

My daughter is 50 and she has been smoking for 37 years. In January she came home from a doctor's visit and announced she was going to quick smoking. After this last pack, she was going to quit. My grandson and I have been trying to get her to quit but it just hadn't happened. She has tried to quit several times but couldn't do it. Well, I thought we had lost out once again when she went and bought another two packs. Ugh! She requit and has been without a cigarette now for 11 days. She goes for long walks and has so much energy now. It is great! She has Nicotine gum and patches so hopefully, she can do it. Fingers are crossed.

I hope she's not smoking on her walks and lying about not smoking this time. My uncle did that and pissed everybody off that was trying to help him. Goodluck to her

@sharon6345 it's not unusual for people to lie about stopping, or for people to believe them. We want to believe our loved ones.

She'll quit when she's good and ready. Not before.

I hope she manages to quit for good. My son quit after 30 years because a friend of ours is in such a state due to smoking.

Willingness to stop is already one step a head. Hopefully she will continue.

Hope she can refrain from the smoking for good.Smoking can cause cancer. It can also cause severe lung cancer and there is no magical cure for it.
