In a world seemingly gone mad, and an uncertain future facing us, we need something to smile about. Something to put a smile on our face which may help ease the stress. So tell us about that special event that you look forward to every year. Could be a family affair, social event, birthday, wedding anniversary - any event that you greatly anticipate in the coming days, weeks or months. Karen Hillier @KouponKaren recently returned from her husband's niece's wedding in Florida. You can read all about it in her post entitled "I'm Back" . What special upcoming event will put a smile on your face? Image from pixabay

@Kandae11 The heat is on yes, but this place is very hard to heat so I must keep it low on the bills. Besides that there are so many other things needed to be fix here..it is okay I am grateful for one thing at least being fixed..but my spirit longs to be free of this place. I know you of all understand that.

No event, just I smile when one of my kids or grandkids call or when my daughter is feeling good here and sits and talks with me every once in a while or I get extra money to pay a bill or buy food.

We don’t have any weddings in our immediate future but we are loving the new lives of the twins and enjoying every minute we can spend together.

I have several of them. Laundry - spending time with my son each week. Exercise class with the ladies in the community room. Canasta with the ladies. Bible class twice a month, and of course swimming at the Y with my pool friends. I look forward to getting back there on Monday after a bad week of weather and back issues.

@Kandae11 They're all fun for me because through them I've become social for the first time in my life. I always love spending time with my children. Sadly, he's the only one I can spend time with. My daughter is in Texas and my older son wants nothing to do with me.

@just4him How often does your daughter visit? We must continue praying that your son will have a change of attitude some day soon.

I am glad that you have several of them and a couple are not what some would consider fun things --but those are things you enjoy doing, they make you happy. For that reason you will do them to the best of your ability. You look forward to laundry day because it gives you the opportunity to spend time with your son.Your life is full and active.

Hmm I don’t think I look forward to the same thing each year but this year I will be planning my daughters graduation party and my other daughters first birthday party. I’m excited but nervous too.

Although we are many months away from it but I love Christmas. The whole family is together and we have a wonderful time. Since my grandchildren are getting older and have their own obligations it's nice that at least once a year we can all be under the same roof.

We get together with good friends every New Year and spend four or five nights together. That's always a great time.

Yes those events add happiness. We haven't been to any events since the pandemic. It's ok. To be safe is more important nowadays. Take care
