How My 2nd Endocrinology Appointment Went (2/23/22)

Yesterday I saw my endocrinologist....but I didn't get online last night to share how that all went. However, since I waited to share about it I can now share my lab results too. The drive to the appointment was crazy....it was super windy, foggy, and snowy (sometimes all at the same time). We made it there early, but they didn't take me back any earlier. What I like about these appointments is I don't have to wait as long for the doctor. With my regular doctor it can be a 20 minute wait, sometimes longer. However with this doctor I think it was only about 5 minutes. The doctor looked over my blood sugars - and he was pretty happy. It is true that most of my numbers were 120 or under. Only a couple in the 140's or higher. I only saw over 200 on the day or 2 that I had a cheat day/meal. He says I don't even need to check my sugar 4x a day, once or twice should be enough. I am a person who likes to see the numbers (that's why I weigh in daily too). I know the foods that shouldn't affect me, and with those meals I may not check as often. Sometimes a food will affect me sometimes, but not always as well. It's all confusing. I have also lost 10 pounds in the last month. I went up a little on my scale at home, so I knew it would only be around there. Had I stayed at my lowest it would probably be closer to 15. Ahh well. I hope in 3 months I can lose a good amount. Anyways; I don't have to go back to him for 3 months now. At least I won't have to make the trip again in this cold weather! --Lab Results -- My potassium is back up into a normal range! I did not add any veggies. I did drink my zipfizz electrolyte drink that has almost 1,000mg and I ate a LOT of salmon which has quite a bit too. That's about all I did to get more potassium in - no bananas, etc... He says my kidneys look good too via labwork. My white blood count is low (not sure how low). Not sure what would cause that, or how to raise it. He asked if I was told it was low before, but not what to do about it. Just said to recheck that in 3-6 months. He did not check an A1c yet, was hoping he would so I could see how much progress was being made. Maybe I will try to see my regular doctor in April and he'll probably check it. So, I guess I am doing alright. Still angry that I can't get the CGM (well without paying $200 a month). What do you all think? Photo Via Pixabay

Well not sure why my WBC is low though, or how my A1c is doing, otherwise good though

I don't have to do anything, but if I don't want to die early then I guess I do...

I think your husband needs to call the insurance company for you.

Glad everything is looking very good. Call the doctors office and let him know you cant get the one he ordered. He can maybe try a different one or work with insurance to help you.
