Hello myLot friends.
My last visit to his clinic was on the second week of December because my ear with perforated eardrum developed an infection again. We did the consultation in an online app first but I insist to have a face-to-face check-up. I’m not happy because the hole in my eardrum didn’t heal by its own since 2015 and it remained at 20% according to my doctor. He recommended surgery this coming March if there is no more infection which I’m still undecided. I used to living with ringing ear on the area affected for a long time but sometimes, it become unusual that felt so uncomfortable with.

Must be one of the reasons. I also want the hole to be repaired because all these years I avoid swimming and very careful on taking a bath so that no amount of water would enter inside and above all to lessen the possibility of recurring infection.

@ZedSmart bad jokes go to far sometimes. Its probably a bad infection if ear drum breaks. Serious antibiotics

What could have caused that? Do you have a habit of thoroughly cleaning your ears deeper?

Yes. But my ear was ok after the treatment t I'm just careful that there will be no water tp get inside. A year after 2015 i had it checked to see if the perforation is restored but it still there The ringing becomes tolerable later on but I hope that the hole will closed by itself but it didn't until now. Good thing my hearing is not affected that much. The latest check up revealed that the hole is still there.

Is it a major and expensive operation? How long will the recovery be? Have you considered getting a second opinion?

It's a minor operation and can be performed at the doctor's clinic. It will cost but it will be covered by the health insurance. I just don't like thinking the procedure because a skin will be take at the back of the ear and it will be use as patch on the affected area to grow. It is said that it's how it work.
