I know these are not healthy

Junk foods as it say are not good for us. They contain little or no nutrients and considered empty calories. However, I can’t resist eating them once in a while and I think will not harm me. What I have for snack this afternoon is a pack of prawn crackers (not spicy) and I use a thousand islands dressing as dip to enhance the taste. I was not able to finish the content of the whole pack but I think ¾ of it is more than enough for one serving.

I don't think anyone can resist all the junk foods out there. They may not eat them often but once in a while is fine, in my opinion. I like several things that aren't "good" for me but I only eat a little now and save the rest for another day. My daughter gets mad when she finds partial bags of stuff, even though I've closed them and put a clip on them so they don't get stale.

@ZedSmart Yes. I'm trying to cut down. And my Mum always puts temptation in my way by buying sweets. I remember the days when she used to tell me "Sweets will rot your teeth." Now the boots on the other foot!

Funny but in our house, if you wanna call the attention of the teenagers, just open a bag of junk food noisily and they’ll come running

@ZedSmart do you know how small the one peso chichiria now? I can’t believe kids still want to spend their coins in them

Those are children's favorite. Give a kid a peso and they'll run immediately to the sari sari store.

@ZedSmart What is important that you enjoyed it. I used to love to snack when I did not care about my weight. I gave it up along with other things as well and now in between I just drink something. I used to love potato chips with a dip. I do not miss them now.

@ZedSmart For a long time I would look at food and feel like I was gaining weight and then on my journey I found I can look at food now and not want it. It is a very good feeling and took me a long time to get there but a worthwhile trip it was.

Good to hear that you're able to distance yourself from them and crave no more.

I think five or six time a year is not too much but it's good that we will stick to a healthier food but it's not always the case.

I feel guilty over eating them. I want to have them every day. It's a good idea to use a dip. I just usually eat it without a dip

@ZedSmart there isnt much in a normal bag of crisps/potato chips or whatever , so you end up buying a family size and eating the lot. Some bags only have a bout 10 in them which is no use to anyone. They also made chocolate bars smaller- they pretend its for peoples health but it means people buy and eat more bars....so more profits for them

@ZedSmart - I stopped even buying, I thought that it is better to avoid, not only because of the calories.

Not good for regular consumption. But if we're not really into that kind of stuff, we don't mind them at all Ms. Anna.

We all know that we should not eat them as they are not good. But there is no harm in pampering our taste buds once in a while. Yes, regulation and moderation would be the key

When I consume junk food I see to it that I drink a lot of water afterwards , healthy kidneys and water has the ability to flush out bad elements in food ( or drinks) we consume provided it's not done often, nature designed it that way.
