Love, People, Transcending Borders

This Russian, Ukraine conflict has certainly brought out quite forcefully the bad side of people ,and the very good side. I was reading an AP report concerning 200 Ukrainian orphans.- most of them children with serious mental and physical disabilities. The orphans resided in two orphanages in the city of Kyiv.. Unfortunately there was constant shelling in the area , and a metro station nearby was blown up. Arrangements were made for the orphans to leave Ukraine by train. They arrived safely in Hungary on Wednesday and according to the AP report, "They disembarked the train into the cold wind of the platform and into the arms of dozens of Poles and Hungarians waiting to receive them". What a great example of support, love and unity. I must admit a few tears fell as l read the full report. By the way , do you ever cry while watching sad movies or inspiring stories with happy endings?. Image from Pixabay.

It’s sad to think of these children being uprooted from their country but nice to think of these kind people welcoming them.

@RebeccasFarm why is that Ocean Tiara? Why are you sad all the time ? Most of the time l am reasonably happy - then life throws some punches , if they hit the spot then l may be upset for a little while. What do you need to make you happy most of the time ? How did you get the name Ocean Tiara? It is a beautiful name.

I tell myself it is only a movie - but then movies deal with real life issues.

I saw this too about the children - so heartwarming. And yes, I cry in movies, even sometimes when I'm reading.

I think humankind on a whole want to help those in need. People have empathy and look at the situation in Ukraine and relate to the hopeless situation these people are facing. Sadly, there are also some ruthless people who are absent of emotion who spread misery and destruction in their wake.

So many more are in need of help , but it is good to hear and be happy for those who receive assistance. Even though it is a drop in the bucket.

Yes they probably expected just a few officials from the facility where they would be housed.

Glad to know. This shows, humanity still exists. I just hope they get into the senses and stop this war. It's really bad
