Why More Shiba Inu?

Shiba Inu. The 'darling' and super hyped cryptocurrency meme token of 2021. Did it ever have value? Does it have value now? Maybe. Maybe not. When it comes to any cryptocurrency frankly I think it is at best anyone's best guess. Is it cheap at $0.00002502? Again, who knows? I blew $16,000 a few years ago on a very promising Chinese telecommunications and cell phone company and lost everything. I can't tell you how much money I have probably lost in casinos over the years. The amount of money I have forked into Shiba Inu is nothing even closely compared to certain other investments I made and lost in. A tilapia fish farm in Hainan, China. A local bank. A company in the business of treating waste water from fracking operations. Tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars tossed into the wind, never to be seen again. That's investing sometimes, you know. Often times it pays off well. Other times it's like "oops, that was a bad idea." But without risk there is no possibility of any gain worth anyone's time. I think Shiba Inu still has some legs. There is a small use case in play going on behind the scenes. There is a 'burn rate' in place to reduce supply. And Robinhood may still list the meme token on their exchange. So, for whatever it is worth I keep buying a bit more here and bit more there. Nothing significant. A couple million SHIB here and there. It's not money I can't afford to lose and is significantly less than more significant failed investments I have made in the past. So, I am either going to turn out to be one hell of a smart guy, or I'll be writing about SHIB among all of my other losers in a future post. Who knows?

No reward without risk as the saying goes, or something to that effect. I hope it pays off and doesn't end up being a failure.

@porwest Couldn't the same be said for any investments?

@kaylachan Not really. Most other investments have quite a lot more data from which to arrive at a valuation. Crypto has no such thing as it is only 12 years old and there is nothing at all backing it up.

Only time will tell. I think that frankly goes for the entire crypto market for that matter.

I hope you’re right. It would be sad to lose everything.

Well, unless I forgot to mention it, the portion of my investments that go into speculative stuff is only around 1%-3%. So, the impact on the overall portfolio if I do make a bad call is not all that significant.

Good you are probably right. Did you know now that Colorado is the first state to accept bitcoin as currency for everything apparently?

I had read it as only accepting cryptocurrency to pay taxes with. Perhaps I missed something?

@RebeccasFarm Yeah. It was just for tax payments.

Shiba Inu is an interesting name for crypto currency.

Supposedly the creators of it chose it since they were calling their meme token the "Doge killer." In other words, it was supposed to be better than the Doge coin. I am not sure they have accomplished that yet of course, and even Doge has not lived up to what it was supposed to be even though Doge was literally created as a joke. Crypto is an interesting world in and of itself to be fair. lol

As I said before, I hope it works out for you. I'd like to have a couple of Shiba Inus; but my husband said, "No!" lololol

@porwest We've had dogs for about 45 years. Now, at our age, we decided not to get any more. It is nice to not worry about them when we leave the house. Going outside is easy. We have about 3/4 of an acre fenced in...just opened the back door!

@LindaOHio When I had a dog, it never failed...no matter how well I took care of the yard my foot always found a turd.

I have been on the "no dog" thing forever and a day. I really do love dogs. It's just that they can be a real pain with the needing to have them go outside, wet paws in the winter and rainy days, crap all over the yard and not being able to go anywhere without having to worry about what to do with them. Cats are way easier. lol
