Farmer's Market: Yay or Nay?

We have a new Farmer's Market in the area that our house in Louisiana is at and I've put down that I am interested in a booth for the Easter Market.
I was notified today that they would like for me to come this Saturday for the first Saturday in March event. I wasn't preparing to come to that market but have been thinking that it may be a good idea.
The cost of the event Saturday is only $10 to set up. You do have to provide your own tent which we have and chair(s). My husband has agreed to help set up but of course, is not keen on hanging around. He will go to the house and work there while I am at the market.
The Easter Event is free and the Easter Bunny will be there, an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids, and a bounce house. I think this event will be drawing a big crowd.
I will have to see what I can come up with at the last minute of stock to go to the market this Saturday. I'm up in the air about it. What do you think? Should I go or wait until the Easter event?

Two different thoughts. If you go THIS Saturday, it might give you a feel of how you'll want it for the big crowds in the Easter event.
If you wait, you can have more prepared for the big event.
I would put as many things together as I could and get a practice run done.
My wife and I would get booths to sell our homemade knick knacks. Things like bird houses I made and she painted, cross stitches, painted milk cans... Just about anything we could do cheaply.
It was some pretty good money. We started taking orders for things a customer wanted personalized. I ended up skipping the flea markets and farmers markets and just went by word of mouth.

@Vikingswest1 The big event for Easter in April is Free. It seems like they would have charged for that day!

Back in the late 1980's, we paid 35 bucks for a weekend booth. They were permanent booths under an awning. Power and water at each booth.
Ten bucks is a great deal. Food trucks. I can almost smell that wonderful aroma now.
Taking orders is the best way to go.

I don't have an opinion on that. I've never run a booth in an event like that, so wouldn't know how much work it is or whether it would be profitable for you there. (I've been to events like that and wouldn't be interested in manning a booth.)
IF you decide to take advantage of the event, I hope you do well there.

@kareng I'm up and moving around at 6 am. Granted, I don't leave the house but I'm still awake at that time.
If you have the time, I'd say you could probably do well at that type of function.

@DaddyEvil That is my deep sleep time!! We may just play it by ear. I don't know. Hubby is not thrilled about getting up so early either.

I think you should do it if you want to. It's a small investment.

@LindaOHio I was surprised since my hub suggested it. I ordered one early this morning!

It seems to me it’d be a good way to get your name and products out there in the minds of people, even if all you can do is take orders.
I wish you a lot of success this year!

After getting up today and the fact that hubby did not sleep much last night, I decided to just wait. I can do the third Saturday this month and that should give me time to get stock ready, get the pop up tent out for shade, and all that stuff together and packed to be ready to pull out the morning of the market.Hubby also suggested getting a banner made to go across the top front of the tent.

The Easter one gives you more time to get ready. But if you have enough stuff it could be worth it
