Kathy who did not give out her last name who lives in Norfolk Virginia recently received some very good news from officials at the Cape Coral Animal Shelter four days ago when her 15 year old poodle named Snowball who went missing for his home in Virginia five years ago. The officials at the animal shelter claimed that the poodle was brought in by someone who most likely found the dog either on the streets or the owner decided to the dog to the shelter was examined and the officials found a microchip that led them to contact Kathy with the good news that her pet was found alive. The condition of the dog when he was taken into the animal shelter was that Snowball had matted fur and infections on his eyes and ears. Kathy then after receiving the good news from the officials at the animal shelter took a flight from Virginia to Florida to reunite with her dog where he will spend the rest of his day with his owner back in Norfolk.

That is true that the microchip was important to find Snowball's owner.

It's really a great news. I am really happy for Snowball and the owner, though the condition of the dog doesn't sound good.

I am jealous. I hope someone would fine my cat and bring it back to me.

The same feeling I have since my cat Mumps ran away from home last year and she never returned.

Poor Snowball. He is an old dog now but at least he has been reunited with his owner.

This breaks my heart that a 15 year old dog is in bad shape and out on the streets instead of in the owner's home. I'm glad he's back home; but what did he go through over the last 4 years? Sad.

I wish I knew what Snowball went through while he was away from home. I agree with you that the dog must have suffered abuse from persons that harmed him is heartbreaking.

That's a long, long way. I don't think the dog walked that distance, no doubt was picked up by someone and then dumped later. I am glad she went home. My sister had a cat show up and not want to leave, she lived in Seattle at the time. It was a beautiful Siamese, she took it to check for a chip. Chip showed owner in San Francisco, when contacted she made the trip to get her kitty. The cat had slipped out her door one day and disappeared. Three years later, showed up at sisters...you have to wonder how they get places sometimes. I love happy endings, and they don't happen often enough.

I am sure that the dog was picked up by a stranger and taken to another city since there is no way that Snowball could walk from Virginia to Florida.
