Yesterday on roads, tired and exhausted..

Good afternoon from this side of the planet
I am back from the tailor and given two of my blouses to be stitched. That's one errand off the list.
I couldn't be here yesterday as we travelled to Chennai that is around 350 km from here. So it was a total of little more than 700 kms travelled both ways and that left us too tired.
Well, I didn't drive. Husband did it. But sitting in car for so long is good enough to tire you.
It was a function at one of the close friend's place in Chennai. He is a college friend of my husband and they have been through thick and thin together. It was the thread ceremony ( a religious ceremony in Hindu) of his younger son. I, husband and my younger daughter went to the function. My elder one had a exam yesterday and so we left her. She spent the whole day at school writing her exam till 4 in the afternoon. I had made and packed her lunch before leaving at 3 in the morning.
We started at 3AM to reach there at 10 in the morning. We visited the city after 5 years and felt that the city was more crowded and traffic has increased in the last five years. We were at the function till 4. It was a small gathering and a delicious elaborate South Indian meal. It was good to meet few more friends from our circle. We started our journey back to Bengaluru at 4 and reached home around 11:15. And then a quick shower and we crashed to the bed.
We all had a off day today and so no morning rush.
I slept till 8. It was a lazy morning with just toast and tea for breakfast. I just got an hour of zoom meeting with the two kindergarten teachers, some mylotting and cooking a simple lunch of khichdi ( one pot meal of rice, lentils and veggies cooked together). We needed light meals today after all the feasting yesterday.
I wanted to have a long nap after lunch but then sleep evaded.
. So I went out to tailor and finished one errand on the list. I will finish some tomorrow after work time when I go to pick up my younger daughter.
That's the update from my side. Hope all is well at your mylot corner
Leaving you with this image of beautiful Gandhari flower from my garden. This one cheered my mood in the morning. It's the first bloom after a wait of eight months and it's just gorgeous

Yes, it was a long time since we had a gathering with friends..It was the first one since the pandemic and so was a good break
I slept from 12_8 peacefully. But still I can feel the exhaustion. I plan to go to bed early tonight.

@arunima25 Yes, it's nice to get back to seeing people. It was a long time before I could see my little nephews.
I think going to bed early tonight is a good idea. Sleep well!

@sharonelton It's exciting to meet and see people. Covid taught us to value such little things.
I have work tomorrow morning and so I need a good sleep to get over the tiredness that is still there

That does sound like a long car ride and long day overall. Good that you have today off and you got to sleep a little late.

@arunima25 hope you're feeling better now but I can certainly imagine how tired you must have been after such a long trip. Being a passenger is just a tiring as the driver.

@Marilynda1225 It took some rest for couple of days to feel better. You are right. Passengers also get too tired with such long trips.

Yes, it was indeed a very long one. Though I didn't drive, It was tiring enough to be seated in the car for so long. I needed a long nap for two days in the afternoon after my work time to get relief from the tiredness. A long night sleep was not enough for me.

It was a long ride and quite exhausting. But then it was worth the delicious food and wonderful friend whom we met after so long. One night sleep was not enough for me.
I took long naps for the next two days in the afternoon after work to get the relief.

It is indeed. I got the cutting last year from my neighbour. It took so long to grow and bloom. But looking at this beauty, I would say that the long wait was worth

Isn't traveling fun?! We were always exhausted after long distance travels, too.
The flower is beautiful.

@arunima25 If there were no troubles along the way, then you didn't do something right.
I've always hated riding with someone else. If I'm going to die in a car crash, I want to be the one driving the car.
I'm not good at giving up control.
You forgot to add the fragrance for us to enjoy. Did you sniff all the fragrance up before taking the photo?

I love traveling especially road travel. And this was a smooth one since we started so early to beat the traffic. And I enjoyed it even more because I was not driving
.I am out of practice of driving a manual gear car in the last two years after I switched to autogear. Husband did not want to give it to me on a highway
. We took his big car as it's more comfortable for long drives.
This flower has a very lovely fragrance too

That sounds interesting that we have similar kind of meal in two different continents. Your meal sounds delicious and healthy. We also have variations to the same meal adding spices and herbs and using different combinations of lentils and veggies. We also replace rice with milletes which are healthier choice.

Yes, I did
. And we did take some coffee break, walking around and using the restroom. So we did take breaks after every 2 hours
. While coming back, we parked the car safely near a restaurant where we had some juice and tea. We took a 40 minutes nap there
