I enjoy finding obscure, unusual facts online. Sometimes they might be strange, sometimes informative, sometimes relatable, funny or just odd. Here are some of the latest I found on animals. -I remember when the movie "Gorillas in The Mist" came out where Ape's behaviors were studied to see how smart and sociable, they were with humans. Here's a gorilla behavior you may not be aware of... GORILLA BEHAVIOR Gorillas have been shown to have individual personalities and exhibit emotions like grief and compassion. But they have a stange way to show happiness. When a gorilla is happy, they "burp." -Sometimes when I forget things or do them incorrectly, I wish I had more brain power. Wouldn't be great to have the brains of an Octopus to solve your daily problems. See why below... BRAIN POWER An Octopus is considered a very intelligent animal. No wonder. Did you know an Octopus has 8 tiny brains in each arm in addition to its central one in the brain. -Have you ever owned an unusual pet? I had some white mice and a chameleon, and my friend owned a ferret. How about a rat? Did you know they are quite friendly. See how below... SQUIMISH RATS Some people who choose to have a rat for a pet because they are "actually quite sociable." One behavior rats exhibit is licking. They may lick you or be in a grooming mode. You can return the affection by "tickling your rat." They will get a "laugh" out of it. In other words "Rats laugh" when tickled! Source- Best Life

I don't care if rats die laughing, just keep them away from me! That goes for all rodents. No unusual pets for me.

I agree there. The only good rat is a drowned rat! Another Gorilla fact: they are not territorial like other species and are really gentle not violent.

I was not aware of any of these facts. Amazing to say the least. I know gorillas are very smart. Never had an unusual pet, but my Irish Uncles had ferrets in Ireland.

Some fun facts here. I'll have to say I'm just showing happiness now when I burp.

And I thought burping occurred only when you were full. Another Gorilla fact: they are not territorial like other species and are really gentle not violent.

An octopus has problem-solving abilities too. They did an experiment in which there was food in a jar. The octopus learned how to unscrew the cap and claim the prize.

They are similar but hamsters seem to have a better reputation than rats do. You never hear people say "You Dirty Hamster" do you? Hamsters do not have long life spans only 1-2 years.

@dgobucks226 I guess I never heard of that sayings, and wow. I never knew that hamsters are really having a short span. To some extent I am grateful that dogs live little longer than hamsters.

I haven’t had any pets since my baby passed away 20 years ago. I keep the squirrels, birds, and feral cats fed, though, and they in turn keep me entertained.

Nothing like outdoor visitors to come and say hi! Sometimes I have a Hawk stop by my backyard looking for a snack

Thanks for sharing the facts. I don’t know them I wonder if those Koreans who eat octopus become clever because they eat the octopus brains. I saw a lot of octopus eaten by the Korean in their dramas. Some even moving young octopus. Yikes

I hear octopus tastes like chicken? I don't know if that's true but it seems a popular dish for some cultures whether they get smarter or not
