Hubby has a sore throat

Hubby has come down with a sore throat now. I am sure he got it from me. He is having comfort foods and lots of liquids. When he feels sick he likes warm broth. I also got him some applesauce with cinnamon on it. I am finally feeling quite a bit better, although I still have a cough. It seems a busy cold and allergy season all around.

Pollen season has started and this Sahara sand in the air is not helping. I hope your husband will feel better soon.

@GardenGerty - I am staying inside and I use the mask if I go out, it helps against the pollen.

Yeah. I can agree there. My husband came down with a minor sinious infection, and I get a cold from it. Just got over that recently, myself.

Make him drink warm tea with no sugar or very less of it. Honey lemon soothes the throat too.

Many here have allergies. That time of the year I guess.

He does not use any allergy medicine at all. I wish he would or could.

With sore throat we normally gargle with apple cider vinegar. The organic one. It gets rid of sore throat pretty quickly. Ginger ale helps a lot too.

He does not gargle. He says he just swallows whatever. That is why I gave him hot beef broth, the saltiness soothes him. We have a new kind of ginger ale that is "robust" more gingery and we sip that off and on all day.

I think he feels better but you can pretty well count on a cold to last at least a week to ten days.

I'm sorry he's not feeling well. I'm glad you're doing better. This has been a strange winter, so I wouldn't be surprised by a busy cold and allergy season.
