I arrived back home around 11:35 last night and beat the bad weather that was coming in. Thunderstorms were predicted throughout the night. My daughter found out that the daycare was open today and I came on home. But first, we went out for dinner. My daughter came home from work dead tired and didn't feel like eating anything she had there so proposed going out to eat something where it would be quick and easy. The kids were excited and we let them choose where they wanted to eat. Low and behold, they chose the local Vietnamese restaurant. It has been some time since I had Vietnamese food and I was up for the adventure. I found that both my grandson and granddaughter were proficient with chopsticks and loved this kind of food. Who would have thought? We all got a Pho Noodle bowl and everyone came out full. My daughter used to have a friend whose grandmother made us egg rolls for all family parties. Her grandmother was a native from Vietnam and made some wonderful egg and spring rolls. Have you tried Vietnamese food? Do you like Vietnamese food? Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain

@DaddyEvil I've never had Korean food but the Thai food is good! We had several visiting scientists from Thailand at work, and they would bring a traditional food from home when we did our Thanksgiving lunch at work.

@kareng You're welcome. Before the pandemic, Pretty and I ate at a Korean restaurant in Springfield several time and a Thai restaurant. We liked both of them really well.

I have not tried this food. I was afraid it would be spicy. Glad you made it back home.

Only if you add the hot sauce. My daughter loves it and added it. I put a dab on my spoon to test it first. OMG! It was HOT! She is the only one in the family that does not have acid relux.

@CarolDM Me either! I have learned to test stuff to see how hot. I can handle just a little but not any more.

I never try it. It might be nice food. However, I love Korean food, especially noodle.

Hubby and I love pho (my kids love Asian noodle dishes but for some reason they don't care for pho). We are friends with a Vietnamese family - we've had their egg rolls at parties and oh my gosh, super fresh spring rolls are awesome. The bahn mi sandwiches are good too !

@wolfgirl569 They served with a spoon but the noodles and meat out of the pho was eaten with the chop sticks. I was watching everyone..haha.

I managed to eat the noodles and meat with the chop sticks! Amazing! I did find it funny that they give you chop sticks for a soup dish; but they eat the noodles out with the chop sticks.

I'm looking forward to trying something else there. My daughter ordered an appetizer bowl with 3-4 different things in it to take for lunch at work the next day. We sampled one of the spring rolls and it was delicious. I could make a meal out of 4-5 of those with a salad.

I bet it is pretty close to the same. Cambodian BQ sounds good. I'm hungry so just about anything would sound good right now.

The spring rolls are close to Chinese but that is about all from what I saw.
