First time participating in CAL / myLot

I just came across this CAL (Crochet Along) event on Instagram. There are altogether 9 designs. Every 3 days, the first part of each design will be released. If we managed to complete the first part, then we will be able to get the second part. The first design is a doll. It looks cute, and I think my kids will like it. I managed to complete the first part within 3 days, and successfully got the pattern for the second part. I am not so interested in other designs. I have asked my kids, they don't like those designs too, except for a snail pattern. Following such CAL even is fun, but can be quite challenging too, as I will have to complete crocheting within a short period. Sometimes it might be good for me, or else I might spend days or weeks to complete one design. I am thinking when I will finish crocheting this doll...

I hope it will be helpful for you to make a crochet dolls that your children like. The attached photo is one of the crochet dolls my mom made before. In fact she crocheted more but I am afraid it may be a little boring to show her things all the time

Not boring at all for me, as I always browse through those crocheted toys online. I remember this doll your mom made. It's very cute! I like to see when my kids come up with different ideas to play with these toys. That's the motivation for me to keep crocheting. They might not like the toys anymore when they grow up, so now it's the good time to make these toys for them. My eldest doesn't play with these toys anymore.

@youless I wish I could... Sometimes I wonder if I have spent too much time crocheting, but as you said, I should do more when they still like them.

The doll is cute. Kids indeed would love it. In my case, I'm not so skilled to do crochet work. I'm manually clumsy. But I do hope I can get into it in the future. I'll try my best,

Thanks! I still haven't make the second part of the doll yet... feeling a bit lazy to make the doll now.

I have always been thinking I am quite clumsy and not a detailed person, handwork like crocheting, knitting didn't seem to be something I could do. I picked up the skill because of my kids and sometimes I really get addicted to it. Though I am still not very detailed, I can see improvements since my first crocheted work. Sometimes I guess we need some motivation to get us started.

Thanks! It's not too difficult if we follow the pattern. But, the facial expression is always a big challenge for me. I still can't get it neat and nice.

Thanks! I actually don't really like the green color. But since it's actually a "Turtle Girl" pattern, so I just follow the dark green mentioned in the pattern. I prefer lighter colors.
