Day Out at the Barbican

The forecast was wrong and it was sunny and warm, so for the first time since 2019 I took a trip to the City. I wanted to walk and photo the old city walls and started off at the Barbican. I took a little wander around and had a slow lunch of ham and Emmental on sourdough, with tea. An excellent day and I got started on my city walls project.

@Tampa_girl7 I am a bit limited when it comes to cheese. I mainly stick to cheddar and Emmental and a few of the French soft cheeses

I know, I am a little on the shattered side today. I biked twice last week and did a seven mile walk and then about five yesterday. Rest day, today!

The area is called 'Lakeside', as there is a long, wide, pond on the left of the picture. There are a couple of Moorhens who have made a home there. It is just a nice relaxing place

@CarolDM Me too. You can find them all over the city. I do like to discover them. One of my favourites is on top of Temple Tube Station. I have used the station for years, but didn't know about the roof and the view of the Thames and the South Bank

It is indeed, the Barbican building is on the right. I was sat near one of the cafes.
