I have been reading about the problems during the Oscar´s ceremony.

The SAG, the sindicate of actors, condemned the slap that Will Smith gave to Chris Rock. While I agree that violence should be condemned, I ask myself if it is not violence what Rock did. Smith´s wife is suffering from a medical problem. Nevevrtheless, Rock dared make fun of her in front of all the people the were for the ceremony. I ask myself who started it? who should be condemned? Another akward moment was when one of the presenters made one of the actresses leave her seat to talk to an actor who even happened to be her husband. I think that those people should show their routine so that they don´t offend anyone in order to get a few laughs of the rest. Humor has to be laughing WITH , not laughing AT. And much less with people who cannot defend themselves. Smith defenced his wife and now the Actors Syndicate talks about violence. But, how can we stop bullies?

I am not convinced it was for real. That is how bad the environment is these days. You cannot believe anything any more.

Real or not, he got what he deserved.

Well, for the first time in a long time, people are still talking about the Oscars. I wonder why the slap didn't come the first time Rock told the joke?

@Vikingswest1 I don't know but the ratings were very low, this is one way to get them up again.

I fully agree with everything you wrote. The first one who committed violence was Rock. No one should ever joke about people problems.

My younger daughter´s ex never lifted a hand at her or at the chidren but when Claudia literally threw him out of her house he already had destroyed the whole family. Now Claudia and Sofia (his only child) are with therapy.

@LadyDuck I agree. That´s why I think that the "joke" at the Oscar ceremony was violence.

@marguicha I am so sorry, sometimes the attitude and the words are worst than anything else.

I saw that happen and it was just a simple slap not really anything violent, He just stood up for his wife, Now if he had come out and punched the guy right in the face that would have been violence,

Right. He just made clear that nobody should say anything about his wife. Rock was simply disgusting.

Humour at someone else's expense is never funny. There is too much of that nowadays.

There is no excuse to accept it in these events. In fact, there is no excuse to do it at any time.

I think that man deserved the slap. For me it was good that Will Smith depended his wife. That joke was a rude one.

I agree with you. I would think badly of my husband if he did not defend me from bullies like Rock.

@marguicha That is what I think too if my husband would not depend me.

Smith should have talked to Rock after the ceremony was over and not used his hands to get his point across.

This is not a thing of getting his point across. If we had been in the middle ages, I would have expected of my husband to throw his glove for a duel.
