Strange episodes lately

I haven't slept well in many years, probably mostly due to Fibromyalgia. But lately I've had some strange things going on.
A few months ago in the middle of the night, I woke terrified, jumped out of bed and was running toward the dining room, crying, "Not yet!! Not yet!!" I just was convinced that if I stayed in bed, I would die and I didn't want to go yet. I was only up a few minutes, then calmed down and went back to bed.
Then earlier this week it happened again. Same thing, this time I was calling, "Help me, help me, help me!" I woke more and then went back to bed. It happened a second time that same night. This time I wasn't scared, I had just dreamed of a 12 year old me walking down some stairs. When I got to the dining room, I realized we don't have stairs.
Three nights later, same thing, but this time as I was almost running, I said out loud, "Oh great, not again." No fear, just wondered why this keeps happening.
Dale and I sleep in different bedrooms and he made me promise to wake him if it happened again, so I did those last two times. Every time afterwards, I don't have nightmares or any problem going back to sleep.
I can't find any particular reason for them. One night we'd had an argument so maybe stress caused it, but not the other times. Two times were terrifying, but the other two were just more annoying.
Now listen y'all. Don't think I'm any weirder than you already thought. This seems to be unusual for adults, mostly kids.
I told y'all I'm a late bloomer.
I don't know if this is night terrors, REM sleep disorder, or what. Maybe it won't happen again, but if it does, I guess I'll see my doctor.
Anyone had this experience before?

@RebeccasFarm They're not so horrible, actually, but can be very stressful. I think, what if I get hurt or try to go outside?

I can certainly understand your nightmares after losing Dustin. I'll see my doctor if they continue.

No, but if you take diphendramine or benadryl to help you sleep, they can cause nightmares in older people. It could be another med you are taking as well. I would check to see if they have side effects like that.

@1creekgirl I would check to see if your sleep med has the potential side effect of nightmares. It may not be the same for everyone. I know Ambien too can cause out of body experiences.

@snowy22315 I take Ambien once in a great while because I'm afraid of all the possible side effects.

Thanks. I do take a sleeping pill, but it's not diphendramine. Benadryl doesn't make me sleepy at all.

I have often extremely weird dreams and sometimes premonitory dreams: I had precise premonitory dreams in the past, so when I dream about something unpleasant I am stressed during several days wondering if "it was only a dream" or if "it was a premonitory dream". I am now trying to remember my last dream, I only remember it was not pleasant, but too confused, I need to stay in a dark room and try to focus.

@1creekgirl It happened several times, I laughed on some and I could not believe that what I had seen in my dreams really happened.

That would be unsettling to have dreams that come true sometimes.

I appreciate your advice, but the reason we have separate bedrooms is because he snores and I move around too much, lol.

@Kandae11 You probably should have your doctor check you out. Make sure it's not heart related.

@1creekgirl On two occasions last month I woke up in the middle of the night - once it was a bad dream - then after about five minutes my heart started pounding in my chest. I really didn't know what to do so l went to my son's room and woke him up. He told me to stay calm and do some deep breathing . After a while l was okay The second time it happened there was no bad dream to blame it on, so l am thinking l should perhaps see a doctor.

I can't say that I have. I don't think I'm very vocal in my sleep. If I was, I think my husband would've told me by now.

@1creekgirl Yeah. Hell, if the cat can wake him up, me talking in my sleep would. Hell, he tells me when I snore.

Let me just say stop spooking me since I am here all alone, Second now that you mention it in my younger days there were episodes when it seemed I was so deeply asleep I was fighting to wake up and I could not and when I finally came fully awake that so scared me I was afraid of going to sleep again, In my older days or I could say as I get older I had a couple of incidents back in Latvia but then my husband was still alive and just a few here alone but it is like suddenly I feel I cannot breathe and I sit straight up in bed and take a deep breath and then realize everything is all right and that certainly doe not do wonders for my state of anxiety, I hope you can figure out what is happening with you, I have been all right now for quite a while, I will tell you that actually when I really think about it and perhaps something happening it does not scare me I only wish and hope that it will be my husband who will come to take me to the other side,

@1creekgirl You might meditate on Ps 4:8 - “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” I have terrible sleep, always dreaming nonsense.

I sometimes will "act out" just before I wake up. I've knocked things off tables, etc.; but I haven't walked in my sleep in over 60 years. It could be nothing but stress; but I would see my doctor too if it keeps up.
