Due to information from Law Enforcement, School has been cancelled for today. There are some unknown threats to our Marion County Schools. So we are better safe than sorry. I am dressed and my lunch is packed, so I guess it goes back to t he refrigerator. Oh, and I shall go put on some comfy clothes, and maybe nap. I do still have eight hours of school closure pay left to use, so that is what I will do for my time today. I will also use this as a time to make up for things I have gotten behind on. That can be a good thing. I was in high school in the 1960's and we often had to evacuate for bomb threats. I had much rather just stay home in the first place. I feel pretty confident there is nothing to worry about, though.

Oh good Heather you are off then will give you some time. Yeah it probably is another made up phone call or something. At least I hope.

The fact that the Kansas Bureau of Investigation is involved makes me concerned that it might be more serious.

@RebeccasFarm My lead teacher says the KBI would be involved even if the threat eventually proved to be totally empty.

Why has schools been cancelled? Any problem? Do you teach online when the school is cancelled?

We do not teach online this year. This is a criminal threat against someone in our area. I do not know anything else. I do know we are being careful and all after school activities are cancelled as well.

Let's hope it's just some kid's attempt to get off school for a day. Stay safe.

It sounds like something we really need to be cautious about.

Goodness, I wonder what the problem is. I hope it turns out to be nothing too humungous.

I have never heard of this happening here before, and it is county wide, involving 5 or 6 districts.

It's good you got to stay home instead of evacuate. Hope all is well.
