Interesting About The Calico Cat

It is not a breed of cat but can be any domestic cat with three colors usually black white and orange. Variations include cream, brown, reddish-orange, and blue-black. Maryland's state cat is the calico because its coloring matches that of the Baltimore oriole. Most all calicos are female but the rare male is usually sterile.

I currently have my first calico that I'm keeping. I had a calico with a group of rescue cats from my wife's folk's across the street neighbor. This little family group were the first cats I got from her. There was a tabby and white mother who came with the name "Honey Bear." Honey had 3 kittens. Honey went to a friend for her second to the youngest son, they kept the name. One went to a coworker of my wife's and was named "Top Cat." The only girl, the calico, went to my now roommate's mom with the name "Molly" but they mostly called her Molly Bolt. Her mom was happy, but Molly fell in love with the dog. We kept the last one, the most wild of the cats and named him Gizmo.

@ElicBxn .......Our old cat here is about ten or so now I am thinking. He's a dear. Name is Silver.

1 in 3000 males can produce offspring. Males are rare but not always sterile.
