If you eat sloppy joes, what's your favorite brand or recipe?

For our international readers, sloppy joes is hamburger fried and cooked with some type of bbq sauce. In America you can buy a jar or can of sauce with seasonings which is added after the hamburger is cooked and the grease drained.
A lot of people buy Manwich. Our favorite was Not So Sloppy Joes. That one tasted just like my mom's homemade sloppy joes.
For the past two years our favorite hasn't been available but the Manwich brand was. Recently my husband saw a new brand on the shelf. Del Grosso. That tastes similar to moms recipe too.
I'm curious if you eat sloppy joes and if so which brand do you like best or do you follow a recipe? I could probably get my mom's recipe as my sister has all of that, maybe when I retire I'll consider that.

I never heard of this brand before this either but I'm guessing they might be a company that's supplied other areas longer than ours.

I always brown ground chuck, with a chopped onion and minced garlic. Then drain off the grease. I add basil, oregano, garlic powder, catsup, mustard and brown sugar. Usually, I include a little water, tool. This gets simmered on top of the stove for about fifteen minutes. We serve it over hamburger buns, open-faced on a plate. I include sliced pickles and raw onions.

Sounds good. How much ketchup do you use? That may be similar to how my mom did hers I don't know.

@kobesbuddy I was thinking my mom used tomatoes. I never even considered just ketchup along with the other ingredients you mentioned.

@MarshaMusselman Depending upon how much meat I use, the amount of catsup&mustard varies.

I’ve never heard of that brand… Not so sloppy joes.
I’ve made them homemade a few times but my son likes the canned kind best. I usually buy Aldis brand anymore but sometimes I buy manwich brand.
I didn’t know DelGrosso makes sloppy Joe sauce either I’ve never seen it but my husband likes their pasta sauce so I bet he would like their sloppy joe sauce.

Both, not so sloppy joes and the del Grosso brand are similar in flavor. We don't have the later brand here for pasta sauce.

You'd remember as it's a messy meal generally.

With Mc Donald's in many countries I would think most people would know what a hamburger is but they may not know how many meals your can make from it. And we use the same term for the raw meat as we do for the hamburger patties. Or almost. Hamburger vs hamburgers.

@JudyEv I don't remember hearing it used that way before and it probably wasn't here.

@MarshaMusselman I knew hamburger but didn't know 'sloppy joes'. When I was growing up, a sloppy joe was an oversized sweater.
