Dying Age at 40: What?!?

I was talking to a seller today and it is all about the sculpture that I wanted him to do for me. This is a photo of my parents that we wished to be sculpted in a slub of wood. Then, he asked how young my parents were when they died and answered him 70 (mother) and 65 (father). They are lucky to live until these ages. In reality, he claimed that the dying age starts at 40. What? All I know is that 'Life starts at 40.' Any say about it? Image Credit: farm5.staticflickr.com

Well, I'm 67, so I disagree with that seller.

@Shavkat I understand. Soon, Mother's Day, May 8 will be Mother's Day, this year. I'll be going down memory lane soon.

@TheSojourner is right, we are born to die and no one can say when the dying age starts. Life expectancy is 84.25 in the country where I live, 71.66 in your country and only 58 in some African countries.

@Shavkat From the day we come to this world, this is our destiny, to die one day.

I think people are living longer now than they used to but some still die quite young. 40 would be considered very young to die here.

@JudyEv I agree. He seems worried about his fate reaching 45 for now. Surpassing this age will make him more complacent.

@Shavkat Possibly he will be more positive once he gets past 45. Losing a parent at just 45 could really impact on a person.

He has some strange beliefs but its not a fact. 40 is too early to die.

I personally think that he is not still overcome by the loss of his mother at the age of 45.

There is no evidence that dying starts at 40 because anyone can really die at any certain age. I think that we start dying as soon as we start to breathe and it is up to us and God to know when is our dying age.

I find it weird for him to claim this. I guess he is still coping up for losing his mom aged 45.

I guess they say that the body physically starts to deteriorate around a certain age (it's probably different for everyone). But I wouldn't call that "dying". I am well past 40 and I am "living".

I also think it over. He must be referring to the body deteriorating gradually and physically.

We start dying when we are born. We wouldn't be able to die if we weren't born in the first place. Otherwise, we die at 40 to be reborn into a new phase of our life, but that is metaphorical, not literal.

I guess you have a point here. I do agree that we start to die when we were born. It can be gradual as we grow older.

Life expectancy is much higher than it was some decades ago. There are some areas in the world called the 'Blue zones' where people live very long lives - 100 and 100 plus.

It seems that this man is really nonsense when claiming this. I just laughed and cannot believe that he claimed this.

There are ways to keep the life force strong. It depends. Age is more than just the number. Interesting photo.
