"I'm Still Standing" was written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin and was released in 1983. The premise of the song is very simple...it's a song about Elton's resilience after a breakup with a former lover:
"You know I'm still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid.
And I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind."
The accompanying video was shown on MTV; and it helped promote the song here and abroad. It reached #1 in Canada and Switzerland, #4 in the UK and #12 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

A good rocker. He was overcoming some serious problems at the time and this was a celebration for him. And it sounds like it.

That's awesome. I like Elton John but am finding that I don't know a whole lot about him or his music. He has done a lot more than anyone realizes, I think.
