Saved his money

For months, Hubby was eyeing on an electric dual-motor scooter worth $2k + not including postage delivery. I didn't agree with him because I thought a manual scooter with big wheels, BMX freestyle would be good for both of us. Better for our morning or afternoon walk-exercises. We would be using our leg muscles more strenuously. Which is better for cardio. I think. He nearly clicked on "Add to Cart". But he had a look on reviews and would make his final decision after. It turns out, to own an electric scooter, one must register it as a car or vehicle. Should not exceed 20km/hour motor-engine. Pay tax as we would a family car. Insure it as a family car. It can only drive 60 kl and the battery dies. So, logically, you have to buy a spare battery to replace it. I don't know how we would be carrying a spare battery on a scooter. Otherwise, call wife (he's the one using it) to "Please pick me up?". Unfortunately, I don't drive. So, thankfully, no $2,000+ not including batteries, wasted.

Wow! There are electric scooters here but there is no need to register it as a vehicle. But majority of the people here would rather ride a bicycle than use a scooter.

On a crowded street walk-paths, scooters are better for older people, I guess. We are prone to foot aches from long walks. :-D

Same here, if we buy an electric scooter we have to register it as a car or a vehicle. As I do not drive and I have no driver license, I cannot use one.

He, instead, prioritized the things I need in the gardens. Which I am very grateful for. Most of the fruit trees he bought were his idea and choice.

Yes. I've been wishing for scooters that have big rubber wheels/tyres many years back. But our children have grown and they have outgrown their kids scooters. Now it's my turn to enjoy such things. :-)

I know. Thankfully he didn't buy one. So, I'm looking at secondhand/pre-loved manual scooters with big tyres elsewhere.

I had no idea you had to register these as a vehicle. Glad this was re-thought (not sure if that is a word) before purchasing.

It's not suitable for long-distance travel. I think it can be short-distance travel
