A visit from the Pastor and shopping at the big Tesco.

So yesterday our Pastor, Steve Speight, came round to see us. We didn't know why he was coming round but turns out he just wanted to see how we were. We sat and had a good chat and Steve and my Mum and step-dad had a cup of tea, but I didn't because I'd just had a smoothie. When Steve had gone we went to the big Tesco. We were an hour late going because of Steve's visit. I put the recycle in the Tesco recycling receptacle first, then met Mum coming in with the trolley. One of the lifts was out of order so we went up on the one that was working. We went to the sandwiches first. I got myself a prawn layered salad for last night's dinner, a plant based sandwich to eat when I'm out shopping tomorrow, a bottle of apple juice, a bottle of water, a carrot and humous snack and a vegetable samosa for tomorrow's dinner. My Mum got sandwiches for her and my step-dad for tomorrow's lunch, and because we were late and Mum wouldn't have time to cook, Mum got 2 more of the prawn layered salads for them to have for their dinner last night. Next we went to get some incontinence pads for my Mum. Next it was to the fruit and vegetables. We got some more strawberries, and then I got some parsley, blueberries, spring onions and 2 lemons. Mum didn't want any lettuce. Then we went for the milk. Mum wanted 2 bottles of semi-skimmed. Then I got myself a smoothie and Mum got a couple of puddings for her and my step-dad for Sunday. Mum then saw 4 chocolate eclaires at the end of the isle so she got those instead of her usual raspberry turnovers. Next I got myself a vegan yoghurt. Then it was off to the vegan and ready meal isle. I got a tuna and sweetcorn topping for Mum's jacket potatoes. Then I got my vegan pudding for Sunday and some Chick'n'less bites. From the ready meal side, Mum got her jacket potatoes, two shepherds pies and 2 roast chicken meals. Next we went to get some microwave rice for my Mum. I looked for some wild rice but they still didn't have any. I got my seaweed thins and saw some nori sheets which I'm considering buying on another occasion. Then it was off to get some rolls for Mum's burgers. She wanted an 8 pack but couldn't find any. She was looking at the Tesco own brand ones but then she saw some Warbuton's six packs at the back of the bottom shelf so she fished them out with her walking stick and had them. Next we went to get some cakes. Mum already had her chocolate eclairs, so she just got some mini apple and blueberry pies. Next we got some crisps, then it was off to the T-bags. I got 2 lots of T-bags, a supreme macha green and some chamomile. Mum got a large box of Typhoo T-bags. Next we went to the cereal isle. Mum got 2 boxes of cereal for herself. Then we went off to the frozen section. I got myself some frozen butternut squash chunks, Mum got some crinkle cut chips. Then I got her a packet of Brain's f_g_o_t_s again, some duck legs and some Young's Cod in batter. Then I went off on my own to get the washing up liquid. I like the Tesco own brand washing up liquid, because Fairy liquid makes my hands go wrinkly! Then I met back up with my Mum. She went and sat on a bench while I put the groceries on the conveyer belt. When I needed to pay I went and got the money from her. Today it was £80 something. Then we sat on the bench for a while. We were quite early finishing. We'd told my step-dad to meet us at 5:15pm today and it was still only about 4:50pm, so we had loads of time to spare. I drank some of my water, then I went and swapped a couple of books at the Tesco book swap. I found 2 books that I liked - The Hitchhicker's Guide To The Galaxy and The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe by Douglas Adams so I got both of those. At about 5:10pm we set off to go down on the lift. The lift that was out of order was going berserk! The door was opening and then closing to about an inch, and then just opening again. It was opening and closing constantly. It was like it was possessed! I pressed the button to call the other lift, but all that happened was the lift door of the one that was out of order opened again, and then closed again! The working lift did nothing. We waited. I pressed the button again, still nothing except the out of order lift door opened again! My Mum said, I'm not going on the tremulator, I don't care if we're here til midnight! I said we'll probably have to wait til someone comes up on the working lift. And that's what happened. A Tesco employee came out of the working lift, so I got in it quick and Mum followed. But my Mum was worried because the light hadn't come on above the working lift. But we went down OK on the working lift. We were still down before my step-dad arrived. So we sat on a bench for a bit while we waited. He was about 5 minutes late. We put the groceries in the boot of the car and went home. When we got home I unpacked the groceries and had my dinner, which was my prawn layered salad, the chick'n'less bites, one of the packets of seaweed thins and one of my small vegan yoghurts that I got on Tuesday. My Mum and step-dad had the other prawn layered salads and they really liked them. My Mum's friend Francis said she'd come round for my Mum to take her to the house group at 7:00pm, but she didn't turn up til 7:25pm. Mum was wondering where she'd got to. When she did come, she said she'd just come back from Brenda's house. Mum went off to the house group and I locked the door behind her. How was your day?

Glad to know you and your family have been visited by your pastor. Your pastor seems very concerned with his congregation. That's great.

@sinari Thank you very much. That is so true. When my Mum had her brain hemorrhage he drove me to the hospital instead of me having to take a taxi.

@sharonelton Yes, I think the pastor should be kind to all his congregation. Because the pastor is a servant of God. So he must show his love to each of his congregation, as well as to everyone. You are lucky to have had the kindness of your pastor.

Yes, we did have a very busy day. It was quite fun. I'm going shopping on my own again today, and I've got to go for my repeat prescription. Luckily the weather report on my weather app says no rain.

Thank you very much. Yes it was nice. I'm glad we still managed to get the shopping done aswell. I also saw Steve today when I was sitting on a bench by Stowe Pool. He was with a very furry dog called Fleur.

Yes, I always like going shopping. I like choosing what I want. It's paying for it I'm not so keen on, especially in the big Tesco, because the person on the till is putting them through so quickly and I'm slow at putting them in the bags! And you might have to talk to someone!

Thank you very much. Yes, it was a good shopping trip. And Mum did well. She didn't have to sit down before we'd finished the shopping.
