If you got 24 hours to live

I recently watched a show about a guy who got diagnosed with a certain disease and he had like a week to live. He did things he had never done before, gave out donations of his money( how thoughtful)Admitted some of his secret affairs and bad things he did. So if you were told you only got 24 hours what would you do? I am not even sure what I will do.

This makes me think of the the 9/11 disasters in New York - where you hear the last call people made to their loved ones, messages left on answering machines. Very sad and very sobering. What IS most important at such a time? Ecclesiastes 7:2 encourages us all to think about the fleeting nature of life as it is now: ' Better to go to the house of mourning than to the house of feasting, for that is the end of every man, and the living should take it to heart.'

@Hildasalom Thinking of your other post - here's a time when you don't want to have those lingering squabbles that never got resolved. Peace of mind and heart is a precious thing.

Wow. Well, I would ask the Lord to forgive me of anything I'd done against him, and like George, make sure I righted any wrongs I'd done against anyone else. Once that was done if I still had time, I'd let as many people as possible know about Jesus.

I don't know but maybe, I would go around town to spread the gospel and will let more people know about Jesus. I will gather my small group and list all the names of people we know and will pray for their salvation.

I would like ask for pardon on persons that I have wronged in the past and give away my possessions to members of my family.

@Hildasalom Of course I would enjoy my last day after I ask for forgiveness of others.

That's a great question. I'm not sure, but I have a feeling it would be illegal :)

I will see to it that all my concerns are in order, first, I'll visit everyone I love and then tell them how I feel, mostly family members, then dispose of whatever material wealth I have for family. Do things in my bucket list, and enjoy my last days on earth.

@Hildasalom I am a practical person and I would do my best to make his life easier. May be I would be so depressed that I would decide to end my life immediately, why to wait?

I would run to the store to get all of my favorite things. I would sit down and write letters to my children as I sampled all the goodies that I got at the store. I would contract with an attorney to have these letters delivered, one at a time, on their Birthdays for as many years as I had time to write. They would be in my own handwriting. I would also write down my wishes, admitting my faults and misdeeds, and thanking my wife for being my partner through life. I'd list where I wanted my silly treasures to go. I have MLB baseballs, NHL hockey pucks and an NFL football, all signed with the autographs of my favorite players. I also have the seat that I sat in at the last football game played at a stadium that was just a short distance from my childhood home. I have items that my parents gave me too. All these things would be given away. I would take any time left to phone those I cared about. When I was down to just minutes, I'd set off fireworks until I expired. This is all assuming I am still able to function and wasn't confined in a hospital bed.

@vikingwest1 You really love your kids, but I think the time is not enough to do all that you won't finish
