You know what, sometimes it's easier to talk to someone you dont know. Because they dont know you, they can be more honest and objective. And even if they think ill of you, thay dont know you personally so who cares? Do you have the same thoughts? Or im just so complacent sometimes

I agree that it can be good to speak to people you don't know sometimes. Of course, other times it's better to talk to someone you do know e.g. if it helps that the other person knows specifics of your situation and knows you well so they can support you accordingly. Personally, i found it good to talk to a counsellor. I didn't get much out of the sessions but I could, at least, say things in confidence and without judgement. It was her job to listen whereas friends and family, well, most wouldn't care anyway but there's only my husband I can really talk to about anything.

I think counsellors are well informed and well trained for thia type of things. It's just that they sometimes are costly.

@iluvuabado86 they can be costly. I was fortunate to have access to to free counsellor at the time because of something else I was doing. I think I might have benefitted from further sessions but I wasn't able to continue.

Yes, I agree. And sometimes it is easy to share your thoughts with a stranger.

Yes it's is true since they don't know you but why should you tell a stranger things about yourself.

@iluvuabado86 For me I find it hard to tell a stranger my problems. You never know they may use it to harm you. You should not be easy to spill all information about yourself to people you don't know.

I think there are problems that you dont want to talk to your friends because you're afraid you might offend them if you talk directly to them. I mean sometimes you ask advice from people you barely know

I agree. I sometimes do that. Because, when you talk with strangers, you feel less judgement on their side, at least.

Thta's exactly my point. I think they will be more honest with what they really think you should since they dont know anything about you

People you don't know may not be as receptive to you.as you expect them to be.

Well it's true. Maybe you should eatablish a certain level of friendship or knowing that person than just talking to a person from out of nowhere.

That is true. Some people are very good listeners.

Sometimes you dont really need an advice. You just need someone who will listen to you venting out your inner thoughta

If a stranger is a good listener, you will not feel uncomfortable talking to him or her

I guess you will have this feeling inside you if you think the person you're talking to won't harm you
