Thanks to the work of officials with the Louisiana Department of Transporation (LA DOTD) who showed compassion to a kitten that was trapped between two bridge joints on the Westbank Expressway who is U S Highway 90 in New Orleans, the kitten was saved from a tragic ending on Tuesday morning. Firefighters in the Greater New Orleans area attempted to rescue the kitten on Monday evening but they were not successful in getting the kitten to come to them. In a case of being in the right place at the right time, the officials of the LA DOTD were working on inspecting the bridge when Bridge Engineer David Brasset heard the kitten meowing as a call for help. When David's attempts to rescue the kitten to safety failed despite using food failed, David and his mates called for help from Jefferson Protection & Welfare Services Humane Division (JPAWS) worked together in an attempt to save the kitten for a period of several hours before the kitten decided to be saved by an employee of the LA DOTD was able to get the kitten to safety at last. Never giving up on the rescue mission was the key of rescuing the kitten. The kitten was taken to a local animal hospital to be examined by a veterinarian who gave the kitten a clean bill of health. The kitten is going to be place up for adoption by the officials of the animal shelter in New Orleans. Hopefully the kitten will find a new home soon.

Sometimes you have to wonder how kittens get themselves in such predicaments.

@Deepizzaguy Maybe they think that, seeing they have nine lives, they can afford to waste a few.

That was a lucky kitten. And was probably the baby of a cat that was not sterilized as it should be. In my country, many baby kitten end up being will cats because the owners or the she cats have too masny kittens.
