Shepherd´s pie with the rest of the chicken.

It is not really a pie with all the reat of the chicken. I used all the odds and ends of the carcass, the crunchy skin and the jelly that is a mixture of chicken and butter.
The breast will be used for sandwiches with mayo. I might even use some sweet pepper.
In this moment the pie is in the oven and we are waiting for the crust to tan. For that I like to add a bit of sugar.

I will have a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich with a cream of broccoli and potato soup.
Dinner remains to be seen.
I just watched a documentary about the driest place on Earth.
The Atacama is a really interesting place. I learned so much from that show. It is the oldest and driest desert on Earth but it's made up of gypsum meaning it was once a seabed 15 million years ago.
Is that a place you've ever visited?
Even with only three one-hundreths of an inch of precipitation per year, it still can support life for succulents and cactus. This happens only via humidity. Normal humidity levels are only 10% but rise for a very short time under certain conditions to 75%.
All the vegetation has adapted to survive by absorbing that high humidity and storing it. Even the salt deposits contain life.
It was an amazing show.

I have been there 3 times but never when by chance it receives a bit of rain. Then a miracle happens and seeds that have been dormant for years wake up and plants and blossoms appear.

I just learned that. The trouble with this documentary was that they only spoke of that miracle when dormant plants come to life, they had no footage to show. It must be incredible.

@kobesbuddy Rosa says that the only time she has good lunches is when she works here. I confess that I accept Rosa because there´s noone else around. But I dreadfully miss my Leticia.

I would rather hte crush be savory for the shepards pie.
I haven't made homemade shepards pie in awhile, it's too hot now to do so.

For lunch we had Meals on Wheels (a stuffed pepper); and for dinner I had 1 crab Rangoon and 1 piece of pizza.
