Is it disrespectful?

In todays generation, liking or commenting on peoples pictures can be considered disrespectful. Maybe because your partner is liking some strangers picture. A “like” doesn’t have to mean anything bad, it’s the intention behind it. I think this has more to do, when your partner is adding random strangers and commenting on their posts. How do you feel about your partner adding people they don’t know? I guess it all depends on their intention? Has anyone ever had this problem before? Let’s talk about it. I am very curious and what to hear other peoples point of views on this.

I guess it all depends on their intention? Yes. When there's trust, likes don't really matter. After all, if someone wants to cheat on you, they'll do so secretly. I think the main problem with liking and commenting "questionable content" is the gossip that might take place behind your back, because unfortunately people don't always mind their business.

Sometimes they aren’t even cheating with the person in those pictures. The one they need to worry about may not even be on their socials.

@Ladanger Exactly. Maybe they're just overly friendly, but that doesn't make them cheaters.

Yea i can see what you mean, when you start adding random people and commenting while you are already dating someone could make them feel unimportant in a way especially if you never do the same for your partner.

It may not be cheating but could come off as disrespectful.

Well it is only me so I do not have to worry about a partner doing anything. But yes, some things are harmless and should not be worried about.

A “ like” itself isn’t bad but I guess some take that as a sign of flirting.

Hmmm....I don't think I've ever added some random person or stranger on my social media sites, or commented/liked their photos. I guess it wouldn't even really matter because I barely ever use social media anymore these days.

Some follow more than 7,000 people and that’s a red flag to me lol

It depends on understanding between the partners. My husband used to protest earlier whenever I accepted a stranger's friends request but he accepted it later on as he knew I did not have a bad intention.

@Ladanger Yes, this is what most men at least in India do not understand.

I guess we just have to respect our boundaries in a relationship.

One thing I know about relationships and marriage is that trust is paramount. If you don't trust your partner you should not be together. I would not want to be around such petty complaints anyway personally.

I think that this should absolutely be a problem if you have a good and serious relationship with your partner. If this is a problem, the relationship is a problem.
