Time to nip this flower challenge in the bud and move on to another musical topic. So, these are the final songs and artists selections to solve, as we finish off this flower series... Did you know a gift of "Three Roses" represents a 3-month anniversary in a relationship, and also symbolizes that person's statement of love for them? Ah, very romantic! As is this song called "Three Roses" by the group "America." You'll enjoy this pretty sounding tune, give it a listen while you decipher today's music trivia clues. Whodunnit- Name those tunes and artists: Answer these trivia clues from our video song by America. Hope you were listening carefully. If not, play it again. 1.(a) Where was the person" sitting by" in the song lyrics? (b) what was the man "holding in his hand?" (c) How many "lazy dogs" were watching him? 2. This song was recorded in 1965 by this "Country legend" who married into the famous "Carter family." Although the "song title" is the name of a pretty "citrus smelling flower," the tune is actually about a "train." This singer growing up was called "JR" but he eventually took the "name Johnny" when he started recording for "Sun Records." The artist gave many "free concerts at prisons" and spent some time at them as an "inmate" too. This performer and his "wife June" often sang a popular song together called "Jackson." -Do you know the name of this Hall of Fame artist and his "train/flower" titled song? 3. Like the song "Love Potion #9" this tune is about a beautiful woman whose very dangerous and can get under your skin, "similar to a certain plant," that if contacted can "make you itch." Both the song and the plant are threatening and should be avoided, as if they were full of "poison." This 1959 song was recorded by a rhythm and blues/rock and roll vocal group who had a string of hits in the 50's and popularized the doo-wop sound. You might know this group from another of their hits called "Yakety Yak." Final clue: A "round or square mat" that is placed under a drink is called a _____________(s)_. Fill in the blank for the name of this group! -Can you name this vocal group and their song about a woman who will leave you needing an "ocean of calamine lotion" like that itchy plant? Ok, let's "properly sow those seeds" when figuring out the songs and artists. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or as the band Jefferson Starship would say, you can "Count On Me." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition soon. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com

1. Put another log on the fire ‘cause the book you read is all about two SMART (not lazy: the four-legged children have life figured out, and that’s eat, sleep, get up and stretch, go back to sleep ) dogs. Did you know America won the best new artist Grammy over the Eagles? Oops. 2. Chubby Wise and Ervin T. Rouse wrote that back in the 30s. They didn’t have Johnny’s “I don’t care if I do-dah-do-dah-do-dah-do-dah” in it back then, though. The Orange Blossom Special ran to Florida. Fun fact: Johnny had a segment on his TV show every week called “Ride This Train,” because he’d kind of become associated with train songs (in fact, I think the cover of the Orange Blossom Special album is Cash sitting on top of a boxcar). Kris Kristofferson told him about a young man who’d written what Kris later called “the best damn train song ever written” and suggested that Cash recorded it, but Johnny said no because he was tired of the typecast. The song in question? Steve Goodman’s “City of New Orleans.” 3. You’re gonna need an ocean of calamine lotion!!!!!!!! That is one GREAT line! I had a lot of calamine lotion put on my arms when I was little because my arms itched all the time….not from poison ivy but from allergies. You’d better put Coasters on the table so that calamine lotion doesn’t get on your table!! And you know how much I enjoy that Jefferson Starship album Earth!!

@dgobucks226 — Cash did record it, much after the fact. Yes, that was the Orange Blossom Special’s route, New York to Miami. Winter only. Johnny’s rendition of “City of New Orleans.” BTW, Goodman wrote this while his wife slept. They were going to southern Illinois to see her grandfather, and he walked around the train and wrote what he saw.

Well, why do you peek? If you can't restrain yourself then enjoy some trivia. Or comment whether you like the song video or song answers. Or, add your favorite flower song. Or don't read my post. It's ok. Whatever you decide is fine.
