Well I did it

I mowed twice today. I finished remowing what I mowed earlier this week, then started on the back yard. It is so tall!
We are waiting to get our rider back, then hubby will help a little with the yard.
Unfortunately I see that the poison ivy that grew up a tree is coming back. I thought we had killed it off pretty well. Those roots go deep though.
I sat outside as dusk was coming in. You can smell the lovely things that are blooming, both wild flowers and cultivated plants.
I have a lot more iris blooming in other parts of my yard. Funny how they can be alike, yet different. White with white throats, white with yellow throats. Large showy flowers, smaller native type iris.
I think my favorite time of day for now is when the sun is going down.

Yes, these do not take a lot of care and I was so fortunate to have a friend share some with me two summers ago.

The tamarack trees are starting to green up. What a change it makes to the landscape.
This morning I’m watching the goldfinches at the feeder.
