Yum! Roast For Dinner

The roast is huge and in the process of a 3.5-hour roasting process. Herbs and searing all went well. It smells like pure heaven and I am sure it will taste even better. I am looking forward to the roasted onions, potatoes, and carrots too. A healthy dinner is always nice. I remember my grandmother used to fix a roast each Sunday and we'd have Neopolitan ice cream for dessert. She could get a good-sized roast for $3 back then.

@celticeagle - It was and in Italy it was a veal roast, not red meat.

I remember doing a week's shopping for $25; and we were eating steak and drinking bubbly!

@marlina Still, comparatively speaking, we were able to eat much better than now for less money.

It was sure tasty. The last one we had was tough and this one sure wasn't. Just missed having some horse radish to go with it.

Ohhh, lucky you tonight!! I love a good roast (I made it in my adult life - I don't think my mom ever made a roast). Did you get some Neopolitan to go with it too?

Times have changed. I remember my Mom giving me $0.25 to get a bag of potatoes (10 pounds)

At the candy store, some of their selections were 2or3 for a penny! A quarter would buy enough candy for the neighborhood kids, to share.

@kobesbuddy .......Sure can't find that any more. And the size of the candy bars has shrunk and the prices have skyrocketed.

We only had this one because the immigrants that live here don't like it. Or milk. We have so much milk given to us by the neighbors.
