That didn’t take long, did it? I wasn’t going to stay gone too long because I had a dental appointment tomorrow. Had, past tense: the VA called and canceled it while I was somewhere without cell phone reception. Oh, well, tomorrow is also primary day and I want to vote. While on my recent trip Vicky #1 Creek Girl (@1creekgirl ) commented that the scenery I’d photographed was “stunning and even more magnificent in person.” That’s the “problem” with bringing you along. I can show you the beauty, but only to a degree. Take this photo. Isn’t that beautiful? You bet it is! But there was so much more beauty that’s not visible. The fresh air. The breeze. The sound of the water flowing in a creek that’s not visible because of the lush green carpet. The bees buzzing around, looking for spring flowers to pollinate. The exhilaration of being there. Still, y’all did come along, and I appreciate it! Hope you enjoyed the trip, too! (Especially since I don’t ask you to pay for the hotel or gas. ) Where to next? Oh, heck, I don’t know. I’m going to the home remodeling expo this weekend, but I don’t think you want pictures of that. But you’ll be along for the ride when and where I do go!

Wow, stunning mountains. Just how high up were you when you took this shot?

Wow, our Mt Franklin is only 5,500 feet high. Kinda short in comparison and not as pretty.

@rebelann — that’s because it doesn’t have any trees. I called my mom when I got off the road on my transfer trip to L.A. (1983) and said, “you’re not gonna believe this, but there aren’t any trees on their mountains out here!” That was the first time I’d seen out west, so it was quite fascinating to me.

Not far. The highest point in the Smokies is Clingmans Dome, which is over 6,600 feet. This was taken at a scenic overlook on the way up. I was far from the peak.

Oh, I’m sorry. I hope you get to do some trips. I’ve seen some drone videos of areas in the Philippines and it’s stunning.

Gorgeous photo. I know what you mean by it being much better when you're there. Who says I wouldn't be interested in the home remodeling expo?? If I could still walk around, I'd want to go!!

Friday should be perfect for it. It’s supposed to be humid and mid-90s. A great day to be indoors.

@FourWalls Yeah it's going to be 88 here I heard. Yuck! Staying in the AC. Make sure you pick up 8,391 brochures at the expo. I love those shows.

Oh, don’t hit the road. It might hurt. There are so many gorgeous state parks in Tennessee. I hope you get to visit some of them.

Even though we did get a free vacation (and thank you!), I'm sure looking at your lovely photos here was just a teeny glimpse of what all you experienced "right there". The real world really can be amazing .

I think a lot of your photos convey the beauty of the horses and the surroundings splendidly.

@FourWalls Thanks. It's the three-dimensional aspect of hills and valleys that don't convey well in photos.
