Learning about Ancestry

My 35th birthday was recently, and one of my gifts from my hubby was an ancestry DNA kit. He is learning more about his ancestry and so I became interested too.
I've just sent off my DNA sample so will be interesting to see what it comes back with. I've also started researching my family on Ancestry and it is quickly becoming an obsession.
Do you or anyone you know research ancestry? It is so interesting.

Yes, I've done some research. It was cut short because the rest of my relatives were in Italy.

So far all of mine seem to have been in Poland or Germany, but I've been told I have Irish and Scottish and Dutch heritage as well so I'm still searching.

In university, my husband looked into his ancestry, which got me interested in mine. I've been able to find out quite a bit about my mom's side of my family. Not so much about my dad's side. At some point, I want to try and do more.

I'm having more lucky with my dad's American side than my mom's Canadian side but I'm still searching. Let me know if you ever get into it again.

@MissNikki I've managed to get quite far on my mom's mom side. A little bit on her dad's side. It's more my dad's side. I'll definitely let you know if I have any luck.

Some of my cousins have done research on ancestry but I never have. It sounds interesting to me but I don't know if I would do a DNA kit.
Hope you get some interesting results when you get your results back.
