Windsor University in Ontario Canada marine ecologist Eric Ste Marie went for a walk with his close friend before they would go to work at the school which is close to the USA border which is separated by the Detroit River about two weeks ago when he saw a river otter swimming in the river. The reason that is a huge discovery on behalf of Eric is that thanks to efforts to clean up the pollution on the Detroit River in recent years is that river otters have not been seen in the Detroit River for over 100 years due to the animals being killed by humans and the otters not wanting to be in a polluted river. The sign of river otters being seen in the river as well as the lakes in the Michigan and Canada regions means that the water is safe for humans and animals to go swimming once again.

I agree with you since we all want to have clean water to drink and bathe.

@RubyHawk That is good to know that mills cannot release dye into the rivers.

@Deepizzaguy I think it’s slowly happening. Mills can no longer release dye into the rivers and our water is cleaner than years ago.

That's so cool. Otters are so cute. I'm glad the water is clean enough for them again.

And just as soon as humans begin swimming in it again they will pollute it with their sunscreens and tanning lotions. People shouldn't swim in rivers, lakes or oceans because we are the problem.

I agree with you since there are too many stories of polluted rivers these days in the news.
