"Publisher's Clearing House" called Bob today. He has won $25,000,000.00
The caller knew Bob's name. He told Bob, in his accented voice, that he was Mr. Walters.
They had quite the conversation.
Mr. Walters tried several tactics to get Bob to say "Yes". "Can you hear me?"--"Clear as a bell."
Gave Bpb a really long claim number. "Did you get that?--"The whole nine yards."/
We are so excited. Our money was supposed to be delivered today!
Nope, it did not happen.

@CarolDM I keep getting calls from Publishers' Cleaning House on my answering machine.That is not a typo--they say "Publisher's Cleaning House" and hope I will not notice.

I am always careful dealing with any person who makes a phone call claiming that I won a huge prize in a sweepstakes since they will then ask me for money to pay a fee to get the prize money. It is usually a scam.

Yes, it was. Sometimes scammers record you saying "yes" and use that recording to make purchases you did not authorize, etc. So Bob said lots of other things.

I hate it when people do that and play on others feelings. I stopped believing PCH a long time ago and for me it happened also with a phone call, I simply said when you arrive at the door with my money I will believe it until then you go your way and I go my way and no more scamming for me

I think $50,000 would be about right. Enough to smooth things out a bit, but not go crazy.
