Finally, an Electrician!

We have had an outlet in our dining room(and back door porch light) that hasn't worked for three or so years now. We called our housing maintenance several years back and the housing electrician and staff came out and looked around, messed with the power box, etc. then they left saying "We'll have to get an electrician in here." That was the last we heard. So, now with our Housing Headquarters Inspection(do we need another inspection really?)coming up on June 10th, I wanted to be sure the outlets work so I called housing maintenance and the gal, Autumn, said she would get back to me. That was May 19. So, today she called and apologized for not giving us more notice but the electrician was finally coming out this morning. Fifteen minutes later he was here.
Yah! Finally, we may get a back door light yet.

I keep my front and back porch lights running 24/7. All the neighbors keep an eye on everyone's property and will call the police if they see something unusual happening in or around our house. I think it's nice.
I'm glad you're getting the items fixed that have needed it.

That's good that you have that safety going on in your neighborhood. The electrician left saying he had to see what his boss said before continuing. So, again, it isn't fixed. I don't understand what is so hard about fixing one outlet and the back door porch light. I know electrical stuff is expensive to get repaired but I mean....... Geesh!

@celticeagle Hmm... I wonder if the problem is more expensive than the electrician is allowed to fix without special authority? That might be why it wasn't repaired when first discovered.

@DaddyEvil .......I would think so since he said he had to check before he could continue. I think that was what happened the first time. And, they wouldn't get an electrician in, and now, with the inspection coming they need to get it done.

That's good. What's the cause then of no power on the outlet? Did the electrician tell you about it?

I am upstairs so he didn't talk to me. My daughter said he had to check before he could continue. Our back yard light doesn't work either and they are there close........I don't know.
