Before the sun got to be too much for us, Ace and I were enjoying some time out on the patio beside the camper. Even though he's slowed down some, he still enjoys going for walks and hikes around the park and down by the river. A short time ago, we walked over to the fish pond. It is a decent-sized pond on the grounds and catch-and-release fishing is allowed. They also feed the fish once a day in the evening and invite the kids in the campground to come to watch. This morning we went over the bridge to visit the cemetery where my dad was laid to rest a year ago this weekend. It is hard to believe it's been a year already. The veterans' groups had placed flags on all the veterans' grave markers and I choked up a bit when I saw the one on his. PS: Ace and I both have more gray hair than we used to.

I'm sorry for your loss. I miss my dad very much. He was a veteran, as well.

I still cannot believe it's already been a year since he's been gone.

@DWDavis it gets a bit easier as the years go by. The one nice thing is that you will still dream about him, and it's like making brand-new memories!

He looks like a mad man I love it. I can never catch cool pictures like that with my dogs.

I would have missed this shot if I hadn't had my phone at hand from having taken the picture of the squirrel earlier.

@DWDavis Tristan was the biggest most intimidating dog I ever met and all I could ever get is sad face like just nothing going on or when did catch him it action just so happy looking and you would never think he was such an intimidating dog.

Well, to me he looks to be 7 years, not bad for an old pup.

He does look pretty good for a 12-year-old pup.

That's a great photo of Ace and he looks really good for an older dog. I hope you're in as good a shape.

K does her best to see to it that I stay in good enough shape for our hiking and kayaking expeditions.

There's none can heal the wounds of time. A favorite line from a favorite song, as song by Stevie and The Waybacks. I'm glad Ace enjoys being active. But we all get a bit more gray every day.
