Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Motor Unit officer Marc Medina showed his heart of compassion last Thursday when he saw a box that had 18 ducklings who lost their parents in the south part of town.
Officer Medina contacted the Bird Emergency Aid & Kare Sanctuary or BEAKS to take care of the ducklings in their new temporary home until they are ready to live out their lives as adults.
The wonderful deed of the police officer and the sanctuary is living proof that there are good people in our world after all.
I just wonder if someone called the police to inform them if the mother of the ducklings had passed away and that person could not afford to feed the ducklings.

I agree with you that the ducklings lost their mom which is sad. They will be taken care of at the animal shelter.

I lived in Jacksonville years ago, and my brother and his (adult) daughters still do. If memory serves me correctly, the general public cannot keep wildlife. They would have had to call the authorities and, in this case, make sure the ducklings were taken to BEAKS.

Thank you for sharing the stories of the laws regarding possession of ducklings not being legal in Jacksonville.

@Deepizzaguy That’s likely what happened. She was probably someone’s dinner.

I'm so glad Medina found the box of babies. They would have perished without the mother.

I agree with you that the orphaned ducklings will find a new home even though they will miss their mom.

Good people are found everywhere. They're humble enough not to be recognized or praised.

You are right since the reward from the Lord will come when we all stand before Him at the end of our lives.
