There is a new scam that is affecting Gmail, Outlook, and Hotmail users. It has to do with a tax refund. They ask you to supply personal information which I hope you know not to do. There have been roughly 400 cases in the last month. Here is the article about it:

I never ever open my email with dubious subject. Or I never read those mails that go to spam. I always clean them.

I have ever received such an email saying that I have money owed to me and such things. I just don't open such emails. It's so obviously not a legitimate email. I'm really careful where emails are concerned. Some just scream scam.

I am careful too but, I am also curious and I like to get after the hacker if I can. Shouldn't take the risk but I'm bored.

@celticeagle Yeah it will be interesting to have an interaction with scammers. There are quite a number of YouTubers that specializes in this. They will get the scammer on the phone and will have such funny interactions with the scammer. They believe that if they can spend time with the scammer, the scammer will not have time to scam other people.

I don't entertain such emails. A few days back I was getting such text messages asking about the personal detail I didn't open it and deleted the message as I knew it was a scam.

Thank you for the link, I had not heard about this but I do not give out personal info anyway, I have not seen this perhaps it is collected by my gmail Spam folder which I just delete and do not look at.

I know that the IRS only contacts you by letter. I would never give out information via email or telephone.

There are all sorts of scams everywhere. I occasionally receive email saying that I won in a lottery and asked for personal information. I deleted it immediately.

No I haven't, but then again I am a bit more careful. I don't really respond to e-mail that much, anyway.

If you read the article it says. It is in UK and are purporting to be coming from the HRMC.
